Oh, so a couple freaks can ruin Christianity, but Mao, Stalin, and Hitler don't give Atheists a bad name?

one person can corrupt anything if they want to badly enough...no matter what they believe...or who they destroy to do so...some people just don't care.

im just stating how i feel why people like me get bugged with christians alot.....when i was in rotc and some one would do some thing like get in trouble with the law or beat some one up....they'd say "some one from rotc...." just saying that when i say things bad about christians i mean those kind...from what i know of you i have no problem...and just a side note...im not an atheist and thats not even a religon....and as far as i learned hitler belived in god

Well... I did my best, I sent God Hates Fags two e-mails. One tells them not to repent and simply to make do because the comign Apocalypse will destroy EVERYONE. The other just said that it's no sin to enjoy the wonders of the human body!:p

Roger that. A good discussion... a pity dogmas clog some minds so much that sanity is forfeited. One of the main problems with religion revealed: You may not question it. And that is yet another reason, I will not believe. I am a scientist. I question everything.

My view on the bible:
A book written by hands of men, and more then one, is hardly holy. A nice fairytale, without fairies. But strongly moralising. Kinda like a old-age startrek actually

I think that Catholicism and Christianity should be classified different, as its mainly Catholics who give Christians the bad rep...

And from what I looked at on that board, they're mostly Catholics...

I do belive Hitler was Christian Sure enough a really FUCKED UP Christian but still a Christian.

Mao and Stalin were Athiests..... but Hitler I can assure you was a Christian..... a very strange one.... but a Christian none the less... he believed in the existence of God and of Jesus Christ..... though he was very interested in the occult....

My point is every group has bad seeds that will pervert any beliefs to their own ends. And Hitler hated Christianity, he was an Atheist who used imagery from the old Germanic Pagan religions.

have you ever seen a buddist web site like that....the reason there are so many "bad apples" in christianity is there are too many of them and they hide behind it so it no longer became holy....even though its a young religon it has become very corrupt with people like that on those sites that instead of changing themselves for the better they try to make them selves look better by hurting others

Yes he did use imagery from old Germanic Religions...... yet he was still a Christian..... he believed in the existence of God and Jesus Christ...... he actually had people looking and searching for the Ark..... he believed that it existed..... have you ever read Mien Kampf???? If not perhaps you should pick it up and give it a read just so you know what you are talking about.......
he did hate Jews however..... but if you will notice he did not persecute Christians.......

There is no source book for atheism. There is theoretically a lot more that binds christians together than atheists. And you know that the list of people who professed to have faith in Jesus but still committed attrocities is much longer than Mao, Stalin, and Hitler.

Point is, I think, atheists do not kill in the name of a god who promotes peace. IE they are less hypocritical.

What goes both ways? Is there an atheist handbook no one told me about or are have both sides comitted more attrocities than the other? That doesn't seem to make much sense...and this thread gives me a good spot to plug my site
