In many religions there is the concept of the Soul and where it is suppose to go after death, but what is the Soul? Why is it that we can only be aware of it's existance after Death?

The soul is the part of yourself that you recognise as being distinctly you.

And as you are aware of yourself you are aware of your soul.

Ever get that funny feeling in your tummy?
Or those little prickles up and down your back?
Have you ever felt the pain of a "broken heart"?
Or ever felt that the world was dropping away beneath you while standing still?

I'd like to believe those "feelings" are our soul reminding us, every once in a while, that it's there.

a person does not have to die to be aware of your soul...if you are asking about it, you may already be aware of it, and just want to know more...

Your Soul is that which fuels your Ideal of Being. Without it you Humans would still be sniffing each others crotches. It seems that even with it this behaviour continues; it is just not as widespread.

On a serious note, your Soul wieghs the quality of your life.

What so many people believe of that is the soul, or the concept of the soul, only exists in the brain. Once our bodies die... The Brain dies, therefore, there is no such thing as a "soul". We are intelligent enough to be able to recognize our own self-existence, but at this point in our existence... We cannot explain why we do exist, so we make shit up that satisfies our brain, such as the various beliefs and religions that are out there. The only thing that could exist after the body dies is our energy. We have already proven in science that energy can't be destroyed. And our bodies do carry a significant amount of energy, if not, we wouldn't be living. Energy only transfers or changes to a different state. I have my own beliefs as to where that energy does go, but...anyways...
