You know, Christianity is not the only religion. You sound like you would thrive on Daoism or Sazen Buddhism. They're still salvationist, but don't have the same cultural stench as Christianity. they interprade, you can do it different, stick with your friend, and stick with the
wiccan way, REAL witches would not have you choose between a friend and a
ritual!!! trust me! Quote: |

If anything I would be my own, a pagan in the shadows, one who finds comfort in the dark. Repent I shall for it is my choice to live the life I do, and it is a pure one. (Although we all have our off days.) And the demon is my love.

interesting thread.
I have no set religion/faith/practise, but i do respect (to an extent) and belive all of them. i see that the greek gods and goddess are real just like the germanic and celtic and...
the differance is while i move about and may often encounter them, i dont intentionally serve them. if they use me to get what they want thats fine as long as i still get my own goal.
i do however draw the line at things i consider to be immoral, such as many asian countries condoning stoning of women, chopping limbs offa children, eating meat. while inturn i see nothing wrong with consenting incest, or watching stargate sg1.
im just a man with his ear to the ground. i dont find the need to prove my faith or test my skills, experiances- with those of a scientific nature because i have nothing to prove.
so i guess i come under other lol BUTTONWORLD 3cm badges by commision in UK whatevers wanted witchcraft avatar or loved one

I think it's more than a little disturbing that you say you have ears for all faith, but mostly have mentioned faiths that have disappeared long, long ago, while ignoring or insulting faiths that are still around. im sorry you found my post disturbing....well actually im not as i didnt type a single thing wrong.
faiths you say have "dissapeared" long long ago have in fact not, i know people that still belive and talk to the older gods and goddess's just as much as people still refer and talk to the churchs god, theres a huge germanic following in newcastle. Buddism itself to a degree accepts all faiths (while making it clear buddah is better because it's more enlightend).
the faiths that have fallen into the past did just as many terrible or injust things as those that are still "popular" and presant, the only differnce is that they arent doing them anymore while the current ones are.
i never actually insulted ANY religion/faith. i refferd to the aspects that i dont like and wont condone/standfor. for example, i wont condone a god that asks a man to sacrifice his child (weather the god intends him to go through with it or not) - christianity.
for those who do belive in gods and goddess, the main thing is to pick a side, run around celebrating that faith/religion, and in the course i have met many people who simply fake it, they are in it for their own power and those who truly seek their faith are in shorter supply these days. I didn't think you were wrong, just maybe a tad misinformed. And yeah, it's kind of hard to get away with doing illegal, imoral, unjust things on a massive scale when your group and support numbers fewer than a million. The reason I said you'd insulted them is because you spoke as if the only important, interesting or meaningful thing about popular faiths is that they are unjust and kill people for no reason. You may not have intended it that way, but that's what you implied. To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

i implied that in no way, perhaps thats how you read into it but i carnt help that, it's like when someone has a smutty mind and everything you say reminds them of boobies.
i also never said, or as you take it implied that the only thing that matters is the newsworthy aspects to a said religion.
i did however define my own moral structure with examples, the point of examples being that they are a couple of things, not going into detail about everything under teh sun.
do you have to have followers of more than a million to count as a faith/religion, no, you only need one BUTTONWORLD 3cm badges by commision in UK whatevers wanted witchcraft avatar or loved one

I myself have no religion yet, because I myself have not studied any religion enough to make a serious decision that will alter my life in any way, maybe when I'm old I'll find one. But until then I'm open to what other people practice, and why?

you dont need to study a faith to follow it, all you need to know is your happy, and not hurting others, thats all it takes. you dont have to pay for a new roof, you dont have to walk up a mountain, you dont have to spend years in a book, simply be happy BUTTONWORLD 3cm badges by commision in UK whatevers wanted witchcraft avatar or loved one
