sure, bro, everything the goverment does is copecetic with our governing laws. ask bill why the taliban was in power in the first place. reagan sold stinger, shoulder launched missles to the irainian goverment, which enabled them to knock out soviet choppers, crippiling the soviets to a total ground war. this was in 86'. this move has been credited as the nail in the soviet's coffin. but what the dub better known as the pres get us into? a full fledged fight with hardened expierenced troops that his dad's mentor helped out. fate...its a bitch. take em all, take em all, put our back against a wall and shoot em, toe to toe, watch em fall, come on boys take em all.

what the fuck are you smoking?? what does that have to do with the issue, if you want to get into a debate about corruption in government and certain problems inherent in democracy... we can take that to another forum.
I am saying that these people have the right to express their religious/political beliefs as loud as they want. we should fight to our deaths (if necessary) to protect that right, without that one point the entire constitution would fall apart. __________ To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. I fail to see any potential harm that could be done by saying you can't protest at a funeral, however. I'm usually all gung-freaking-ho about free speech, but that's just being an ass. Give them an hour and a half to fucking mourn their loved ones in peace. When people talk of the freedom of writing, speaking or thinking I cannot choose but laugh. No such thing ever existed. Do you go to hang around outside living rooms where families are eating dinner with a microphone and scream obscenities at them? Is that a constitutionally protected right? Or is that harassment? If you are in a public place and are not breaking any noise ordinance, its protected.
This country was founded on rebellion and protest. While I do not support their ideals, I do support their right to express them in the manner of their choosing. You can NOT deny someone their opinion... billy is right, whats next... banning Mein Kampf from public libraries... then what, all philosophy books that preach violence or hatred. ok, no more Nietzsche.... then we ban all intolerance.... ok well who sets the standards for intolerance... the governemnt? the supreme court? Honestly I would rather have the right to say whatever the fuck I want - and deal with other ppls opinions - than have to deal with some group of old white guys telling whats OK to say. __________ To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. I don't want to deny anyone's opinion. I want to protect people's freedom from being harassed. I consider showing up at a private funeral and screaming at the attendees that they are going to Hell, they're fag supporters, their son/daughter is in Hell, God hates them, stuff about fag feces, etc., to be harassment.
No one should ever be restricted from expressing any opinion in a safe, sane, and courteous manner. But that doesn't mean you can call someone at all hours of the day telling them that you'd love to have sex with their severed windpipe.
Your slipper slope argument is weak. Protecting someone's right to expression doesn't mean protecting their right to forcibly shove that opinion down others' throats. | I had expected better of you. I seem to remember that you once were capable of intelligent conversation. But perhaps I misremember.

Well, on the bright side we have the Freedom Riders to help combat these assholes. WBC Has the right to assemble and call dead soldiers fags, and these guys have the right to assemble in front of them and gun their motorcycle engines so no one can hear them.

Who says bikers are bad people?
You know, if the entire Phelps clan went over the bridge in their van on the way to the next soldier's funeral, I might actually call that divine intervention, and have a reason to go to church. So basically, you decide what freedom of speech entails... and as long as its not offensive, its AOK??
... and ive become incapable of intelligent conversation? You are the one making no sense, perhaps you can understand why that can be frustrating. You say you are for freedom of speech, but only if it doesn't offend anyones sensibilities... that is the most idiotic thing ive heard all week.
we are done here because you have chosen to embrace a politically correct viewpoint...which ultimately cannot be reasoned with - not because im calling you a hippy douche. __________ To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

I'm perfectly willing to engage in any debate with any chain of logic anyone might conceive. What I'm not willing to do is to waste my time in a squabble that's been derailed by pointless insults.
