On monday I went on a retreat with my class and we visited a Buddhist temple, a Mosque, and a Hindu temple. It was a very eye-opening experience for me. Have any of you had the opportunity to go to places of worship other than your own and talk with people about the beliefs and customs??

yeah i had the pleasure of going to a jewish synagogue last year during our religious studies course. great fun. it was really sad though, they have school in there a small one for all the little jewish kids. no that's not the sad bit

. but the place was locked up really tight, huge iron gates and everyone had to be ok-ed. because they'd had a women shoot a jewish child one day as he was leaving the synagogue/school. [particularly a big deal here in new zealand since guns aren't a big thing here] it makes me sick that people would not only judge people on their beliefs, hurt them for it. but this is a child. it's not like he even had a choice.

it's really great though seeing how others worship.
