my mom just got me a set of them and i'm having a little trouble getting started. i can read hebrew and my mom bought me a book to go along with the set but i can't seem to get the knack of it. does anyone have or know a bit about this type of tarot set? blessed be to all!

Yes I do.. the first thing to realize is that there are no negative aspects of the deck... the cards work off the surrounding cards.... they work alot different than any other deck.... try following the layouts in the book until one catches your eye and works for you....

And do not constrain yourself to the meanings in a strict way...... use the direct meanings of the cards as a guideline.... embellishment is a-okies..... especially if you see two cards in conjunction which confuse you.... try to see how they work with the personality you are reading......

By the way..... I used to read cards... I used Thoth.... I started with the simple Rider Deck.... but the Thoth allow for far more adaptibility......

I do not anymore for personal reasons..... but I have alot of experience with the Thoth deck.....

this stuff is hard...i have trouble remembering the meanings of many of the cards oftentimes.

yeah.. at first do not be ashamed to refer to the book.... it takes awhile to memorize their meanings and what cards conjoin with others..... and which ones cause others to adapt..... or in the case of those who are used to regular decks.... "reverse" meanings.... though the meanings are more so than reversed....

It takes a bit of doing.... but you will be amazed with the accuracy of the deck.... more so with past reckonings and present personas..... future reckonings can be vague and troublesome.... because soemthing may seem negative yet could in actuality lead to a positive outcome.....

You know a thought just came to me. Since you do tarot card readings. I would have people pay if they want there cards read. My grandma does that and she didn't have me pay for my tarot card reading because I was family. That would be a way to go and another way to make money Silverflame

I've worked with that deck for years now, and it is the only I will work with. I love it. I use the book Tarot: Mirror of the Soul by Gerd Ziegler. It helps explain some the symbology. If you don't have it you might want to just check it out. But also be real patient with it because it is really heavy on the symbolism and can take a long time to understand it. You also might want to look into a book about astrology (THE reason I bought the deck in the first place because by the time I wanted to read tarot I had already spent a few years studying Astrology), it can help in times when you are unsure why the card came up for certain people.

It is a very deep deck to say the least.
