Umm...no, I'm not referring to unprocessed energy in your stomach, I'm talking about the brain patterns and circulation of blood, and the potential and chemical energy in your body. If you were to argue that your energy comprised your soul, then you would truly never die, though in that scenario you'd lose your sentience. When people talk of the freedom of writing, speaking or thinking I cannot choose but laugh. No such thing ever existed. No such thing now exists; but I hope it will exist. But it must be hundreds of years after you and I shall write and speak no more.

the energy issue was discussed on like page 6 to 10. you dont keep the same exact energy you are born with. it recycles constantly. you are realesing energy and taking in energy and shiting it and eating it all the time. so energy is not what makes you as someone said years ago on this thread. so it wouldnt be your soul. things like trees and air harbor energy like we do. so do rocks that are completely stagnant.

But the pattern of energy in your brain, though the composite energy may change, remains pretty much the same for most of your life. I simply wonder if it really degenerates into the earth after you die, or if it bounces around forever in space like a beam of light. It may be a pointless question though...you're defnitely right (once again) about never getting an answer. When people talk of the freedom of writing, speaking or thinking I cannot choose but laugh. No such thing ever existed. No such thing now exists; but I hope it will exist. But it must be hundreds of years after you and I shall write and speak no more.

remember when people had conversations with purposes less vain then what's normal now. remember when people actually use to share well thought ideas and discuss them intelligently. those were the darkness days. of course there were always dumbasses fucking up the threads here and there but those dumbasses are so high in number now.

i simply refuse to believe in an orthodox (and subsequentially male) god who consciously (sp?) created everything. i'd much rather believe that a (hopefully benevolent) goddess gave birth to the earth (unplanned) and watches over it as her chylde. (here i'd like to say that, although i am male, i feel that the female form/being is closer to complete perfection than the male, at least in regard to benevolent dictatorship.) as to an afterlife, i'd like to believe that you could choose what you wanted to do, wether it was reincarnation (random or specific) or heaven or a cessation of existance, whatever...
of course, i'd also rather believe in the turtle from stephen king's novel "it" (who supposedly vomited the universe) than an orthodox god. think of it this way: all the devout christians/catholics/muslims/what the fuck ever else agree that god is cruel. that's all well and fine. i could deal with that. however, i've been living under the assumption that god is not merely cruel, but truly insane. if this is true, then who can truly believe in the promise of heaven? perhaps this is all just a joke being played on us all by an omnipotent psychopath.
as you can tell, i've actually been doing a lot of thinking/research on this, and i hope i'm close to the truth.
but really, who cares? whatever created us has already completed it's task, and there's not a damn thing we can do about it.

Here's a thought: This very board.
Darkness.com was created by darkx for good, and yet, it's fallen to shit, idiots run rampant, the forums aren't payed attention to, submissions aren't received, emails to the webmaster aren't answered. is darkx to blame for the state of the board? does that mean that darkx doesn't exist? Help Us Make A Difference!

1. We know darkx, or at least I'm sure some of you have spoken to him.
2. darkx is not supposed to be, at least to my knowledge, omnicient and omnipotant.
3. The relativity of the term good makes it almost meaningless. Did he make it good for him or good for you? If he thinks getting lots of goth 13 year old girls is good then perhaps that's what he made it for, which leads to the next point
4. If we were all able to agree on what is good we still do not know darkx made the site for good. I do not know his mental state, and while it is probably safe to assume he didn't make it for "bad", you really can't say. Hell, I've made sites for "evil" or something (It was a mislabeled link that brought unsuspecting victims to the NYSYNC webpage).
5. There is precedent of bored goth kids making web sites. Besides the one god in question, there is no other precedent for a god.
6. darkx did not create the users of darkness, where as god was supposed to have created the "users" of the universe.
This thread reminds me of the British House of Commons. People yell, rant, insult and mock but in the end nothing changes. No ones mind has been changed and no ones mind will be.
This thread is dead. | |
