Listen, Dyshade, I know you're a consistent fella and you gotta do what you gotta do. But this Void Enthroned kid is hugely fun. I know he's breaking a few rules, but please, please, please, please don't ban him, he's no worse than Crypt, after all. Besides that, Im getting a big kick out of him. To hell with your god... He strung up his own son, imagine what he will do to me.

You're going to take your ideas about life from a guy who raped and mutilated women? To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

And you are going to believe all the stories that suggest DeSade did this to women?? One need not be a murderer to write a novel about murderers To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. S.O.D. actually he didn't really mutilate them, he was just a head of his time in the bdsm department with a bit of the s&m flavor, he ran into problems when he went public, with practices that the church had embraced for years...where do you think he got his inspiration from?
his uncle was an abby and voltair was a friend...those two were quite...educational to a young man who was spoiled as a child by women... To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

u I believe what many of you are selecting to forget is that we believe in many things that we can't see. Ask a meterologist if he has ever seen the wind. Ask a historian if he seen history. Ask a Doctor if he ever seen his own brain. We see the effects of the wind, but the wind is invisible. We have records of history, but it is by "faith" that we believe certain historical events happened. Television waves are invisible as you know, but an antenna and a receiver can detect their presence. The unregenerate man has a "receiver." However, the receiver (his spirit) is dead because of sin (see Ephesians 2:1 which says "As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins"). He needs to be plugged into the life of God, and then he will come alive and be aware of the invisible spiritual realm. 'Tis that simple indeed. Everyone believes in something. No one can endure the stress and cares of life without faith in something that cannot ultimately be proven. Atheists cannot prove there is no God. Pantheists cannot prove that everything is God. Pragmatists cannot prove that what will count for them in the future is what works for them now. Nor can agnostics prove that it is impossible to know one way or the other. Faith is unavoidable, even if we choose to believe only in ourselves. What is to be decided is what evidence we think is pertinent, how we are going to interpret that evidence, and who or what we are willing to believe in Luke 16:16 where it says, "The Law and the Prophets were proclaimed until John. Since that time, the good news of the kingdom of God is being preached, and everyone is forcing his way into it."
When it all boils down to the essentials, what is left if faith. You can deny that fact of course but denying the moon isn't made of cheese doesn't mean that it is does it? Facts are Truth and the Truth is that we believe by faith based on evidence. The idea that design has a designer is something that we accept throughout all of life. If a native who had never had contact with any civilisation or industry, found a wristwatch in the jungle he would be absolutely sure that someone had made it. He would probably say that a god had made it since to make such a perfect and complex object was far beyond any man that he had ever met. Similarly when I examine the human eye or the wings of a humming bird or the intricacies of a living cell or the DNA, I believe that God has made them. These things are so complex and so well designed that we humans cannot even replicate them with all of our technology and intelligence. The modern scientists insult themselves when they say that all of their work and study and intelligence cannot produce, nor even copy, what happened by mistake. To think that the countless mechanisms of the natural world just happened is beyond me. It is like claiming that a tornado swept through a scrap metal yard and produced a 747 jumbo jet, idling and ready for take off. That wouldn't happen in a trillion tornadoes over the process of a trillion years. Logic says so. And it is my argument as I agree with Hez (Where'd he go by the way) that Atheisim it truly baseless if you are open minded enough to examine the evidence of order in the unviverse. Even the most uneducated of minds is able to grasp the fact that you can't get perfect order and physical laws out of random chaos, regardless of the time spent belching and spewing forth the chaos as it could only produce more chaos. Logic
'Tis that simple. Don't worry...be happy.

who needs a god to bring order, when humanity has brains?...even if they're not always used for the most constructive endeavors.
many people need gods for personal gratification...beyond that, they have no...existance...and there were gods said to have brought order from chaos before God was a twinkle in...peter's eye; i guess he's the one who's responsible? that would depend on if one believes in gods as sentient beigns...or more of a cosmic energy...that we as humans gave intelligence too. To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

I do not believe in gods as sentient beings. Though I do believe that the gods of humanity, (Zeus, Thor, Mars, Anubis, Thoth, etc) are simply enormously powerful magicians who have ingrained themselves into our racial memory by their feats of mystic might. (i.e. mythology). The truest, purest gods are not sentient at all. They have a set of instincts that tells them what they should be doing at any given time*, but they exist as formless instinctual super-energy.
* - i.e. when a galaxy should form, how much gravity should be attributed to such and such a planet, how hard the pull of a black hole should be, how fast such and such a planet should rotate, etc etc etc.

Well I like to think so. The problem with it is mostly a PR problem. Since the gods aren't conscious, they care nothing for humans. Or any other form of sentient life. Though when called upon, their instinctive reaction is to send a (microscopically small*) piece of themselves towards the invoker.
* - in comparison to the rest of their body, which is usually between trillions and quadzillions of light-years wide.
