Has anyone else here ever heard of this ancient religion? All i know is what I learned in world cultures class. Shinto originated in Japan and is a nature-based religion which believes that all things in nature have a spirit called kami. They don't believe in an afterlife, there is no founder, and no sacred text. An important belief is to treat everyone and everything equally and with respect.
if anyone has any further information about this religion which i know next to nothing about, please post with additional info. i'm pagan and found this Shinto religion to sound very interesting. i just wanted to see how much correlation there was between Shinto and my own set of beliefs.

I think it grew out of consensus for the common good, a couple of wise guys helped along the way though.

It's mostly a common sense approach to life that grew from observations over hundreds of years.

It's still more philosophy than religion.
