Yeah but what does Socrates have to do with Physics? Thats like saying we should study Apples because one lead to the theory for Gravity.
ill give it to him on this one, socrates didnt really do anything with physics, and logic was around before him. i dont like any of these fags, but just admit you're wrong, and move on.

Py, do you really want to be in the position of trying to argue that Socrates wasn't hugely influential in furthering and fostering logic and philosophy in Western civilization? You're talking about someone who's slightly behind Jesus in terms of their historical influence.

That's ridiculous. It's not something that incidentally was related to, it directly lead to the formation of science. Socrates developed and encouraged forms of critical, logical thinking to analyze problems.
Yeah but aside from common history what does he have to do with physics? I didnt have to learn how to build programs on a computer in order to use Microsoft Word...even though that was what had to be done to get to MS word being born.
The type of critical, rational thinking that Socrates promoted and helped develop greatly, greatly helps in understanding most areas of knowledge, including physics. Essentially, I was saying that if Dyshade followed some of these steps, such as reading Socrates, in order to educate and better himself, he might be able to better engage in relevant conversations about any such topic, including science or religion or whathaveyou.
