Most of the keltic deities were plain mortals that excelled themselves and after their death, were raised to god/dess hood...is it possible that we each have that potential...I like to think of myself as a goddess, and people(mostly men)have said I am...as I have heard others claim godhood also...do you believe in this concept? Can we make ourselves gods?(and I'm not talking egos here)

There is an idea, a theory, that a Person = A Universe, but on a smaller scale, and that inside each Person/Universe are many more and many more. If, as often, Universe is taken to be God, and in control of Itself, then Universe = God and Person = God. We are all inside a Person/Universe and we *are* all a Person/Universe.

In much Eastern religious philosophy - i.e. Buddhism/Hinduism, the Person seeks union with the Universe-Person/God on the level above them, thus passing out of "painful" existance and "into" God. On the other side of the scale, people like these Setians seek to break completely from the Universe-Person/God and craft Themselves as a new and individual one; this is where their concepts of antinomianism, etc. come in - isolating onessefl from the Universe in order to realise the Individual Self-Deification. Interesting, no? Of course, I cannot say whether or not I believe it...

the idea of this post is not to decide if god exists or not..I believe there are greater beigns out there...the point I am trying to make is if people think that one can ascend to godhood or if we are all just destined to be recycled mortal souls that live and die until we get it right and then the end? Or is there more...

all these threads of the power of belief have inspired me to give a good reason why the above statement is true...

okay people, I may not have any parlor tricks to prove to you I am or am not as I claim to be, but seeing all of this bantering about god or no god, real or fake, just want to give you a demonstration how the power of belief and perception achieves...my reasoning...I have done amazing things

I have created life, and brought it into this world twice. I am all that a woman can be...I have been the maiden, innocent and pure, I am a mother, a sister, a daughter, an aunt, a niece, a lover and a wife. I have made men get to their knees and worship me, as I have worshipped them.

I believe I am a goddess...I am beautiful, strong and defiant. I can be a warrioress when needed, bringing misery and despair to those who have crossed me. I can sit and feel the earth move and stop to admire the stars blaze across the sky. I have felt the devastating pain of having all ripped from my soul, and then have had it built up stronger. I have danced with danger and felt the security of a net catching me...I have bestowed great wisdom, and teach even greater things.

I can give you any number of stories about ancient gods and goddesses going through the same trials and tribulations as I have, and because they represented something inate in the people to symbolize their strength and survival, they are now recorded as gods and goddess of old...so what's the difference between me and say..someone like bridgit, rhiannon or macha?

I wish I had access to divinty. I guess I wanna be human on the inside but a god on the outside.

Well, I would like to think of myself and people like me as God made flesh. Very much like Jesus, I would not call myself a God as much as I would a Christ.
