Hey hey!

**licks Sam**

Question: You ever read the Chronicles of Narnia?

When people talk of the freedom of writing, speaking or thinking I cannot choose but laugh. No such thing ever existed. No such thing now exists; but I hope it will exist. But it must be hundreds of years after you and I shall write and speak no more.

Hi DM,

I honestly have not. My oldest brother is a HUGE fan of that series though. I just never could get into it. I did try. Just couldn't get into it. Isn't that JR Tolken? Or is it CS Lewis?
See what I know about it? LOL

And uh, please don't like me. You've no idea where I've been.

Sincerely,
Samichking

C.S. Lewis did the Narnia chronicles, Tolkien did the Middle-Earth books, the Hobbit, Lord of the Rings trilogy, the Simarillion, etc. Tolkien's one of the greatest authors of all time, if not the greatest. Lewis isn't as good but I ask because of the last book in the series, the Last Battle. Without revealing too much, the Kingdom of Narnia is loosely based on Christendom and there's a kingdom next to it based on Islam. In the end there was a character who was in the Islam-inspired kingdom (which was painted as more demonic, unfortunately...not particularly open-minded, but an interesting story nonetheless) who worshipped the "God" of the kingdom who was essentially a demon in the story. At the end he went to the Heaven equivalent and asked the Jesus-based figure (Aslan) if the two gods of the different kingdom were the same. Ahem. Quoting Aslan: "Not because he and I are the same, but because we are opposites, I take to me the services thou has done in his name, for he and I are of such types that no deed which is vile can be done in my name, and no deed which is not vile can be done in his."

Just wondering about your opinion on all this.

Sorry to interrupt...
I just wanted to say I am very sad...
Poul Anderson died...

Yesterday... I will miss his wild imagination and his writing...
A moment of silence please......................................

Ok back to Narnia...
C.S. Lewis was an excellent if religiously impaired Author of some wonderfull books... Narnia is great but not even his best works...
