Anton Szandor LaVey was born April 11, 1930 and was the founder and High Priest of Church Of Satan.
On April the 30 1966 LaVey proclaimed the opening of Church of Satan.
LaVey pointed out that "calling it a Church enabled me to follow the magic formula of one part outrage to nine parts social respectability that is needed for success. But the main purpose was to gather a group of like-minded individuals together for the use of their combined energies in calling up the dark force in nature that is called Satan. Of course LaVey pointed out to anyone who would listen that the Devil to him and his followers was not the stereotyped fellow cloaked in red garb, with horns and a tail, holding a pitchfork ready to nail sinful humans who are following their true instincts.

On 29 October 1997, Dr. Anton Szandor LaVey died of a heart attack. He was 67 years old.
His daughters Karla and Zeena, and his son Xerxes. Following his cremation, Karla LaVey was appointed as High Priestess of the Church of Satan.

LaVey managed to compile some thoughts rather nicely I'll agree... though i would call myself a Satanist, i wouldnot say tha LaVey is my pope... lol... sorta contradictory to the whole process anyhow, the CoS has it's problems... you could look further back than '66 and find the same thoughts, written by other minds... ah well...

I find satanism has become rather mainstream...it seems everyone that has a beef against organized religion say they are satanists, buy a few books and think they are experts...I find it rather sad that those who truly practice satanism get undersold for their faith because of the commercialism...but I guess that's how all alternative religions are handled now a days...not many want to think for themselves...

Satanism is in...it's a nice way to shock your parents and scare the bratty next door kids...but it seems to me very very few who claom to practice it actually knows what they're doing...

And uhm...you who started this thread...who asked you to post this? And why couldn't they do it themselves..?

The only Satanist I have met who I think takes it very seriously is CRYPT...... everyone else I seem to have discoursed with seems a bit shallow and contrived......

my friend does want me to read levey's chapter on satanic sex, she seems to think it's something I would find interesting but it's not fantasy enough for me to claim, she was quite the passionate one about it!

I've read a fair amount of LaVey's stuff. I find him to be one of the most brilliant morons that ever lived. His daughter is hot, though. From what I think I understand, his "Satan" is merely our primal instinct: our basic desire for indulgences and excess, i.e. without that which separates us from animals, we are true Satanists. Meh... to me, that's just saying that self-control is a virtue best pushed aside, which I don't really agree with. I think self-control is, in many instances, a sign of strength.
