The Jehova Witness TOLD me they believe that someday the world will turn into Paradise Hope, a "perfect" world. There always has, & likely always will, be ignorance & chaos so that's a delusion. People like DM & Kitashla who have think I'm ignorant don't see I'm just being realistic. I'm not proud of a shity world, that's just the way it is.
For all we know, the devil created religion & did it to
prevent people from unity.
I DON'T need god to know the world sucks.
I DON'T need or want gods or people telling me what I need, want, or should be.
I DON'T need/want to worship something MAN MADE..waste of time..you wouldn't listen to me, yet you would listen to a rabbi, a priest, monk..who is only as HUMAN as I..difference is, they were RAISED to believe in something (right Kitashla?)..I wasn't.
I DON'T need gods or religion to have morals (which I have)..just 'cause I don't believe in god doesn't makle me a bad person. I don't hate people JUST 'cause they are religious. I can't even "hate" something that doesn't seem to exist.
What we need is to believe in OURSELVES & GO for it..that's integrity.
hi,
i agree with you exept in one point:
The devil created religion?!?
people scared of death created it so that they can "believe" there's a beatiful life after death and there was another reason: So that people will live after the rules made by "god"...

i mean, i agree people created religion and all, but that's an interesting idea, that the devil created, because it makes a good point. As the Marquis de Sade said, "Forget your gods and your religions too: they are none of them good for anything but to set man at odds with man, and the mere name of these horrors has caused greater loss of life on earth than all other wars and plagues combined."
Umm..gee, I don't think I ever said the world wasn't a bad place.
I never said the world was going to be a wonderful place. That's the JW's belief, not mine.
I'm not faulting you for being realistic, I'm faulting you for telling me that because the world sucks, you have no reason to try and make it better.
Sure, there's litter on the ground, but throwing down another piece certainly isn't going to help. One might try picking something up instead. You don't have to make the world perfect, but you sure can try.
Edit to add: I was raised to believe in something. Started off catholic, went to charismatic (want an adventure go to a charismatic church) and then to baptist. You know what, I despise all three. I went pagan for a little while, in a sort of rebellion phase.
Then I finally got around to figuring out what I believe. I sat down and thought about what made the most sense, and what I felt. I don't follow a man. I never said I follow a man. There is a reason I do not attend church of any sort. (Other then the fact that I don't think there is a church out there that would support my beliefs.)
I believe what I believe for 2 reasons. Because it is what feels right in my heart and because it not only does me good but it does good to those around me. NOT because of what some priest told me.
For crying out loud, I'm mostly hindu. I've never seen a Yogi in my life. How could he tell me what I'm supposed to be doing?
You really need to stop second guessing.

hi,
kitaschla: I really like what you're saying...bit i think there is a church that would support your beliefs: the Satanic church...i dunno if you read the satanic bibleor not, and i don't want to convince anyone to believe something...but if you want a church for your beliefs(which i know i don't need), then try that
i really like what u think though

I've already read the satanic bible and it doesn't really support what I believe at all.
My goal in life is to help other's, possibly at the expense of myself.
The satanic religion does not like that.
I believe in the presence of a loving and caring (though somewhat confusing) god.
The satanic church doesn't like that much either.
I have a strong sense of spirituality, and compassion for other's weaker then I. (Ok, sometimes stronger too. I admit it, I cry when I watch the news. You may laugh. *grin*)
The satanic church focus's on a reliance of self, which in itself isn't bad. You should never rely on other's to do what you CAN do for yourself. But at the same time it doesn't want you to aid anyone who cannot do for themselves. And that's where I strongly differ.
I like to surround myself with feelings of love and compassion. The satanic church isn't very good at that.
(Note: Talking about the satanic church. NOT devil worshippers that are two separate things.)

1) I WAS raised to be Catholic. Sometime after I finished high school, someone opened my eyes & changed my perception of religion & god..some of which I have mentioned.
2)What I meant by the devil creating religion was that if there is more than one, people refuse to respect each other's beliefs. A few years ago I read in a local newspaper Muslims made a riot & killed hundreds of people in China just 'cause they were not allowed to practice their religion. What did that accomplish? Nothing! (even though it wasn't religion vs. religion)
