The main reason Jesus told people not to speak of the miracles He had just performed was to keep the masses from coming to Him only to be healed from whatever ailed them, thus blinding some from His mission to fulfill the role of Messiah.

You see this all the time at these "Faith healing" rallies that are held all over by such people such as Benny Hinn and Rodney Howard Brown. In these cases, you have total devotion to the "healer" as through the power of suggestion, "healings" seem to take place. But, the glory is mainly going to the "healer" and not Jesus Christ. So is the money.

Yes I am against these so called crusades but that is another topic.

As far as white magic and black magic there are one and the same in MY opinion. Both are coming from the same source ultimately. By "magic" I am not referring to the work of an illusionist but to the work of one who appears to use supernatural powers to work some sort of "magic". And the source is not of God for it does not bring the honor and glory to Him but to the one who is practicing "magic". Satan is the great deceiver. Everything Christ has done to bring one's focus to Him, Satan has attempted to conterfeit so as to be the sole recipeint of all the glory and to slowly lead one away from the wonderful TRUE healing power of Christ and His redemptive love.

Samich: That doesn't adress the fact that Jesus said, while still living mind you, and by four different accounts, so it's not something arguable like what some guy two hundred years later said Jesus's ghost said: "A good tree can not bear bad fruit, nor a bad tree good fruit". If magic happens, in fact, it's because God created the Universe to function that way. Therefore whether it is good or evil depends on nothing more than how it's used, the same as any other action, whether mundane or supernatural.

I would have to agree with the fact that the "occult" seems to have a draw to some people. But as others have said people in the oocult tend to see everything they do as a means to an end. Everything is supposed to happen-yesterday. Much like a get rich quick plan on a infomerical. With the "occult" or "new-age" or "wicca"etc. the whole religion is bulit on the idea of getting what you want now and here on earth. You can do mostly as you please and seem to have a good life. But-what happens when this world ends? No one has positive proof of what goes on in the here after. I guess it boils down to this: I would rather suffer on this planet till my life is over. And I have all the treasures in the universe. Then to be wrong and have to suffer for eternity. Eternity is a very long time when you think of it.

As for God being silent--God sometimes gives us silence when He wants us to really think about something. Also He might be speaking just not the answer you are wanting to hear.
