Well, do you have any idea how wrong you are?
Out of the .........oh, around 125 posts I have made, only about 10 were done in the "copy and paste" fashion. And those were done to start a topic.
The words you read the VAST majority of the time on my posts are indeed my own words.
So, you may now consider yourself forgiven.

Why is it that "occultic" practices seem to be more beneficial than Christian one's? I've never actually messed with the occult persay, but I wonder on occasion why it seems that those who practice the occult are benefited as much as Christians. I've grown up in the church, but there are some legitimate things that I would like to see changed in my life, character traits and habits that are bad. However, it seems that God is perfectly silent and and unwilling that to lend a hand to one who so desparately needs it. God may illigitamatize the occult, but it offers what God does not seem to. Any thoughts? (as to what the occult offers-certain levels of control and hope of becoming something more)

as for the occult being benificial.. it can and also can be very unhealthy for one... just as all religions can be construed in a good or bad view.... though to answer your question.. since I doubt it will get answered otherwise.. The occult offers rewards RIGHT NOW... no waiting, a small ritual of supplication will do.. hehe the occult is more about fulfillment now.. whereas God is more-so of the mind to not share any rewards unless deserved... not only does he want the ritual he also wants lifelong supplication and never once will give you a sign of his care until after.. I repeat after you die.. hehe... I am of the mind that niether one sounds all that great to me.. The only truth is ones personal truth... if you fervantly believe in your view then i will respect it though I may still find a hole or flaw at which to poke..

Well... it means that the occult actually has only basic connections with Satan... it is only the fact that IDIOTS out there believe that the Occult when something specifically relates to Satan or Satanic acts, and doesn't even realize the truth... which truly is that the Occult is the unexplainable.. the weird... the unknown... etc etc etc

Besides that, Voodoo is also something that is considered Occult, and yet they don't specifically believe in Satan now do they?

I'm not saying that Satanism isn't Occult.. in fact true Satanism is... but it isn't where Occult came from.

There are a plethora of people who have been involved in the occult who were enticed by the aspect of "power" and immediate fulfillment that Dyshade alluded to earlier.

I have counseled people that have been involved in the occult, whether it be playing with the Ouija board, dabbling in witchcraft, trying to conjure the dead, or those who were involved in satanism.

The overall factor with each of these people was they wanted instant gratification. Satan provides that for you if you want it. And after he has used you to draw you away from God, he discards you like the trash he views you to be.

Satan has a plan just as God has a plan. Satan wishes nothing more than to destroy you. It doesn't happen all at once, but more over a period of time as he slowly draws you into his snare. Anything that Satan can do to keep your eyes off of God all the better for him. He will give you your hearts desire if you are willing to give some or all of your life to him. But it is only for a limited time.

God on the other hand wants the best for you. He does ask that you surrender your life to Him in order to receive the full blessings He has in store for you.
You stated that you grew up in the church. Have you ever asked the Holy Spirit into your life? Ever given God control? Many times God waits patiently for you to respond to His call so that He can give you the blessings you so earnestly desire.

I know that many people that read this response are only going to see this as a pat answer and not much else. There isn't a whole lot that I can say at this point without knowing anything about you. I hope that you don't take my response wrong.

I hope you don't take the wrong road but instead talk to your pastor or priest and seek Godly counsel.
I will be glad to offer my opinion which is what I just did based on my own personal experiences as a Christian.

I encourage you to seek the will of Jesus for your life and not instant gratification. In the long run your patience will be rewarded.

I will be glad to offer you testimonies of people who are now Christians that once were involved in the occult if you would like them.

You know Samich, people like you really annoy me. First you try to act like you're merely suggesting your reasons for being Christian. Then you slowly try to bring everyone to the assumption that Christianity is the only correct possible answer. Then you try to get people to think everything but your interpretation of Christianity is wrong and evil, and you keep going and going until everyone's a nice little uniform model of your perfect brain-dead doll inside your fantasy World.
