perhaps if people were more concerned with improving themselves instead of beating their heads bloody trying to improve others who may have no desire to change their life or actions...then the world may be a more happy and peaceful place...what works for one person, won't always work for another...however far too many people want to make their way work for others...completely disregarding the needs and desires of those that are differing in belief, reaction, life or religion...

how you gonna get them to do that?

i don't...it's pointless...if a person comes to me and says they want help changing, than i will help...but i don't try to rule their lives...that's the only way to change someone who does't want to...smoking is a good example...a group of people who don't like the idea got upset, and now it's getting more difficult to smoke...

that's where people are trying to change people that don't want to change, and violating their freedoms because that's what those who "don't smoke" want...

i don't smoke, but i don't tell people it's wrong when they do....

how does it work both ways? you believe people who are too busy trying to tell others what's right and wrong in their lives, regardless of their happiness, can really look to themselves and see what's right or wrong, while saying they are happy themselves?

ahhh...wait, that's what the christian religion does do...so i guess that's quite a normal response from you...

jordyn knows where i'm comming from because she's experienced it herself, however the people that have not experienced it are the ones who are in disagreement. i sugest you experience it first hand before you pass judgement upon the facts, all i've seen so far is "how?" "why?" etc etc, no real depth to the replies to her questions apart from what feels like "let's see what you have to say to this".
maybe you took offence to what i said about the six billion people on this earth, but i'm not going to appoligise for that, we all have our own opinions and i'm not about to change mine just because they don't agree with it, or i don't fit into the mold of how they think i should be.

maybe once you go experience it yourself you'll see that these things aren't black and white, and no matter how many delusions of grandeur you have about how this world can be a sugar coated peacefull place where everyone accepts each other, it's not going to change a thing.

then why bother talking about it?

because it's more reasonable to expect people to change themselves, alcholics are a good example, rather than expecting to change them by telling them they are wrong, all you can do is wait, hope they realize how destructive it is, and be there when they WANT help...to help and support them, however they may need it.

to see people thinking they can change the world on a mass scale, how do you plan to do that, without violating another persons rights or choice, and not getting depressed seeing no fruits of your labor?

are you happy fighting to change the world, are you the best person you can be yourself?

not anytime soon...too many people are to busy trying to change others, control others, and the world around them, while failing to see that a person needs to start with themselves, on can not draw water from an empty well...no matter how thirsty their surroundings may be...

once people get over their material hang ups, maybe then they'll be able to pursue a more spiritual life, enlightening themselves to a point where they can achieve a world wide utopia...but things are getting nastier, not nicer...

This world will be peaceful once the global fauna has been reduced to a single species... And not a second before. Peace just is not in the nature of this world... A world where competition for resources is growing fiercer by the second. It is not just between man and man, it is everywhere in nature...

And no amount of spirituality shall change that.

On the contrary, if the single species is homo sapiens sapiens, then there's not going to be much in the way of peace. And if it's carnivorous, then it'd have to be a cannibal.
