Does no one here see a problem with talking about magic on the fucking internet?





C'mon people, it's not an interesting game, or book that you can simply walk away from when you're bored, it's life, and the dangers are real.


Anyone could be viewing this forum....

As can anyone going into a bookstore and buy just about any book on various angles of magick and the craft. It's widely available.

why should we?

It's sharing information...wise ones always pass their knowledge onto to those who desire to find it, if they are clever enough with the knowledge than they grow, if they are stupid with it..than they will only bring themselves misery in the end...

Now why i feel this is an ideal place to talk about magick is that there are those who are experienced that can guide those who are not...

what's better? going to a bookstore, reading some commercialised version of witchery, whose only intent is on making money or asking on a forum like this and getting experience and discussion on the pros and cons of anything considered magick?

i'd vote for the forum, the stuff they're selling on store shelves these day suck!

I see your point but what about some of the "wise" people who're going to tell the ones seeking the knowledge the wrong information for shits and giggles??


Two Example's.

Master tells student how to summon a water elemental (unbenkown to the student it's actually a fire elemental). They keep practising it in their house everynight until finally the fucking house burns down maybe killing or injuring anyone inside.

A Vamp, Necro Darksided type mage comes onto the forum called Kiros. He assumes a different name for the forums and starts telling a few nieve students that if they open their souls to the god Kiros, they'll be granted more power. He then moves into there vibrations and starts feeding from them.


The books on the shelves may be commercial, and filled with alot of shit that probably doesn't work.... GOOD!!

If you're ment to use magic you will be given the chance to learn or experience it in real life.

The last thing the world needs is inexperienced or immature people coming onto the internet and learning how to Hex someone, or soul kill someone or volt objects!!

Don't you see how dangerous this is?

I'm sure if you really tried, you could learn how to successfully build a nuke from the internet.

Qoji, All you need to build a nuke is enough plutonium? or is it uranium in samll small enough pieces that when they are put together they reach critical mass and explode. You can build a system that can unite the pieceseasily. A Nuclear bomb I think contains four pieces of the radioactive material near critical mass seperated by lead, that are brought together to cause the huge explosion. The lead stops them from reacting to each other in close proximity... Anyway thats what I was told.

Frozen Core, All Magic is dangerous regardless, the more complex the more so. But so is Many machines. Its not like we're telling the niave that the barrel of the gun points towards them when they pull the trigger. And if we were there are many others who would correct them.

I think here is telling people that guns exist and what they do rather than handing them over.

So far all I've seen here is advice and related questions rather than information and details.

I know personally, I'm very careful about what I say here as are a few others I know about .

If you think about it logically, anyone who actualy "knows" something about magic will know how dangerous it is and will be inherently careful about it.

Relax, if something dodgy did get posted I'm sure Lillith would pull it.

Another point is "anyone could be viewing this forum", well "anyone" wouldn't know what they were reading.

There are "probably" other safeguards in place anyway.

i agree with fero, then again there have been a few times when somthing really useful has cropped up.........but u wouldnt know it unless u were looking for it....

one of the strictest rules in the past was to keep the silence, nowadays tho theres no real persucution and so why not try to steer a few people in the right direction, i mean u could hand someone the keys of enoch and they still wouldnt be able to use them unless they had already been researching them for ages...........

It's not our job to "protect" people, no one is here telling people to play with fire...and if someone does tell a person to summon a fire elemental, misleading them that's water, than they are not a master...any person with a semblence of intelligence should realize that to get water you don't use a candle...don't try to say by offering advice, experience and wisdom we are encouraging stupid people to burn down their house...if i saw someone giving that advice, i'd correct them, suggest they don't pursue that plan and be a bit more critical of the "master" If the person continued then it's their stupidity...than it's their fault, not mine because i advised them otherwise...

we aren't watch dogs for the occult...like anything else in life it's people who make it dangerous, not the knowledge...

"it's people that are dangerous not the knowledge" I believe someone said earlier, and thats absolutely true. Just say for example you could class spells into levels. If you were learning level 1 spells, and came onto here and found an exercise for a 4th level spell. You'd know what it was, if it was clear enough you may actually be able to cast it, but without the wisdom that only experience can give you could be putting you and others in danger. Thats a fact.

Alittle knowledge can be dangerous. People can be dangerous.


My intention wasn't to come here and attack your community, I don't doubt most of you have the best intentions and give what you think is the best advice. But how can you advise someone you know next to nothing about, You may allow someone to further there abilities or increase their power when they're in a hostile mage environment, "tagging" them infront of other mages.

If you want information, advice or knowledge, and the universe hasn't already provided you with a guide there are councils, theres one in every major city. There are also certain pieces of literature that arn't labelled "How to be magic" that you could read and learn from.

In my experience it's very rare indeed that someone who has ability, doesn't have someone close to them that can guide them in the right direction.


Thats the point of the Masquerade, people who should know will know, people who shouldn't won't.

and who are you to judge our knowledge and experience? You've not asked anyone, only judged, how many threads and posts have you read on this board?

you pointed out in your first post that magic is not a game, but you make it sound like dungeons and dragons...true magick is nothing like d&d...it's natural energies...but i suppose harry potter and charmed are to be blamed for the commericalized, cliche concepts that people like you seem to have towards magick.

It's nothing like charmed, merlin, the craft, dungeons and dragons or harry potter! that would be a better statement in my opinion.

I've discovered some WELL kept secrets of some kinds of mysticism, but I don't go spouting that. Anytime I've told anyone things I know about magic, it's been pre-initiation info.

As long as I have been postig here, and at most I have not posted for three months, no one has ever posted any dangerous knowledge up here, as far as I know.
Anything that I consider dangerous or advanced, I only give to those who I can trust to understand it, so far there has been only three, that I have given my private info to... As to whether it was useful to them only they could say.

I don't know, I think Llewellyn Publications release some of the most amazing books within this genre, and more. And I'd hardly reckon Israel Regardie's work suck!

Llewellyn Publications in general are a joke... I go through these books from time to time and all I can do is laugh.
