necro's right, it was a tragedy perpetrated by paranoid zealots and greedy politicians...the countries may be varied, but the intent was the same.

Ok....but if we look from the Christian point of view- People make choice....God or Satan...and depending on this choice God or Satan "rule" people. Therefore, people are ruled whether by God or Devil.

Actually the Christian point of view states we have free will to choose, God, the Devil, or ourselves.
God offers nothing to bribe us to him, the devil tempts with huge rewards that you actually are already recieving in most cases, or we can just be selffish.
So the Inquistion was created by Man, who benefited from it, was probably "The Devil" at the time, but us in the long run... in a cold blooded statement kinda way... although I still dont agree with it.

Erm I would think it would be God`s place to judge and punish not his followers.

i agree, what gives interpreters the right to decide what the originator was saying...they can't even speak to god directly but need jesus for their mediator...ever play the rumor game? "The the night is dark tonight", six people later it's "the stark sang in the park" imagine the game lasting for thousands of years.

Where did u get it....that we can choose ourselves? It's the first time I hear that sort of "Christian" poin of view........

As far as I know, selfishness is the main thing about satanists, because first of all they should think about their own precious personaility.

No one actually argues the Inquisition was a good thing. Hope DM doesn't see this or else be ready to face the wrath of one super defensive christian (who isn't even a christian).

i'm anything but a christian, but god did create man with "free will" hence the ability to do as they wish...if they choose to be a selfish, scrooge that would rather beat people with a cane than give them a smile...or a shining example of goodwill and generosity, they can choose to follow "the bible" or find their own path..."god" gives the person life...he doesn't control them!

don't get selfishness mixed up with the self...the self is a good thing, knowing your self, sharing your self, enjoying your self...selfishness blocks all the positive that comes from knowing your self and clouds it with greed, hate, jealousy and mistrust...

personality is just how people present themselves to the various environments they need to co exist with...it has nothing to do with satanism...

maybe you should clarify your terms and try to understand the rights of personal choice before telling people what they believe or are choosing to follow

To KaliShakti - No I am not. Sure, am not satanist so I can't say anything for sure. I am just a person who wants to learn more about religion a people , and in this topic i want to learn more about inquisition. I get all information not "from the air" I talked to people, read books, sites. If, u don't agree with me explain me why and i'll learn more.

people chose themselves ( not God and Satan) -> They started killing each other and there is nothing to do with satan or god

I was a Christian once, this is where I learnt it from.
It works like this, you can Worship God, or You Can worship the Devil.
But if you choose yourself, you are choosing to live life as you see fit, good or bad depending on your own values, or you can worship money, or a Hero, these last two count as False Idols.
But the Christians hold regardless of what or who you choose you benefit either God or the Devil.

It's not for her to explain, to assume you know what a satanist practices or believes when admitting yourself you don't know anything about it...that's what i mean by telling people what to believe...not that you are telling them to worship this way, but assuming because they are a practicioner they believe the way you are assuming they are...

they no longer kill people because it's illegal...you go to other countries(a story was posted in africa where they stoned three people to death for witches)regardless if people are christian or not, they'll try to destroy what they don't understand or disagree with...but to your concept of a christian defining themselve by killing they've now taken to missionary work, ever have a christian give you one of the sin pamphlets, a mormon or jehovah witness knock on your door? They are still confirming their belief by trying to convert others...there's just laws in place to protect those who disagree.

you do learn? Entities are just an excuse, short of possession they can not make a person do anything, not even a god or devil.

sorry don't know what came over me. it was neither God nor satan that did these things. it was religious zelots that had power and weren't about to let anything lead people away from their rule and them seeking more power.

It's interesting to note however that no one has mentioned the fact that the Inquisition aimed its attack at no Catholic christians and Jews.

I've read it in the necromant's site. They said that most of the priests where necromants. Inquisition was invented by The Orden of the Death Keepers. There was some sort of disbalance between Life and Death............well....and inquisition was one of the ways to improove the situation.

Unfortunately I dont know anything about the Necromants, But it was created during a time when priests were allowed to do Magick.

necromants? i don't know about them, but i've had experience with necromancers...*shrugs* but they have nothing to do with life other than living with it...i imagine it would depend on the inquisition the country was held in, but with all the information and historical acuracies concerning the salem witch trials...i think that theory can be discounted...it was paranoia...and possibly some ergot rot wheat bread...
