I have read so much inaccurate information put in the forum on the Christian faith, beit Penticostal or Catholic, that I feel I have to set some people straight. Dare I say, having been raised by a sunday school teacher and an ordained minster uncle, I feel more than qualified to give you the undilluted facts.

First, nowhere in Christ's teaching does it say that Christians get brownie points in for converting people while here on earth. That is strictly a Jehova's Witness principal. I think that certain people here should actually sit down in a sunday service or two, and maybe even pick up, and READ, a few chapters of the bible before running out to critize something they are not too sure of. You don't see me trashing the Koran. Know why? Because I have not read it through, that's why....
Secondly, because you do not agree with a paticular religion or aspect thereof, does NOT mean that it does not work for someone else and their lifestyle. For every person that says a religion is being "crammed" down their throat, there is a person who finds it necessary to "cram" down a christain's throat that they are wrong for their beliefs, that they don't work, are hypocrates, etc., etc.
Think about it.

Someone who says the same thigns I do but actually makes sense (which I fail to do) Huzzah!

Just that some people out there do like to preach, its not unlike nagging so its not suprising that some people cant stand it.

First of all..... not only the JW's have that policy.... the Southern Baptists actively seek and convert members as well as the Mormons..... you must remember that there are about 200+ different denominations of Christianity...... and yes not all of them condone prosalytizing..... yet a large amount of them do.....

Why don't people like Mormons? All the mormons I know are really nice, decent people. Hard-working, honest, loving, generous, a little hypocritical, but otherwise a lot better people than me.

I'm sure the average mormon is like any other person...it's their methods that I have issues with...I mean come on...I am walking to pick up my daughter on a steaminly hot day, I have had a hard day at work and am running late...these two nice men stop men in their suits on bikes stop me and proceed to tell me why I should join mormonism, offer to set up a time when they can come over, show me a movie(the story of Jesus) and have a nice time? and it's not the first time I've had these nice young mormon men seem so eager to show me a movie.... at least the jehovahs just hand out a nice little book...

Mormons creep me out. I read the book of Mormon and wondered about the mentality of those who actually believd it. It scares me. It's one of the most ridiculous stories I've ever heard. ..and yet the number of Mormons is baffling. To each their own..but they still give me the eebie jeebies.

Any religion that is based on proof has to be a little dodgy.
