I have heard about the 2012 "prophecy" stating that a major shift in the cosmos will take place. It has also been named "The start of the Golden Age" and "the end of the world" (i don't like that last one. Move outta your comfort Zone every now and then John.)
Point is, it is quite hard to believe for any thinking person that Jesus is going to descent and unleash his wrath unto all non-christians.
But what isn't so hard to believe, is that a shift in consciousness is going to take place (which might mean the end of the world for alot of christians anyway.)
The consciousness is growing. it's becoming more prominent each day. People are rising up against religions and social structures all over the world. I know, they've been doing that since the dawn of time. So what's different? Well, it's in the WAY they are rising up. They aren't burning flags or blowing things up. The change is taking place WITHIN rather than without.
If anyone has noticed this the way i have, i would like to know your view on things. Are we really approaching "the golden age of consciousness"? O Canvas!, wherefore canst thou these images not allow? - I deem a projection of my Theatre they should be! - Then, I challenge thee the wisdom of naysaying the yearns o' mine - What is this unforseen that not enjoineth light shades to be skillfully painted?

first, i don't think it's a threat to christendom, i'm seeing a lot of changes in affect from the younger generation that have realized you don't need a church, dogma or a hellfire preacher to celebrate Gd and His Son, this i've seen it the ways people are forming their church to suit their lifestyle rather than what traditional old people think church should be...home churches, cowboy churches, industrial churches, song and dance churches, messianic christians, several denominations sharing a building and their services.
it's not Jesus who's going to release His wrath, if you believe in prophecies and the sort, it'll be removing all the true believers, and then several hundred years of everyone else trying to sort out where they are, who they are and what they're going to choose in whatever the new world order will bring...an ultimate test of faith. After so many years than Jesus will arrive, take those with Him that believe leaving the rest to their own, fates...but i'm not big on the prophecy.
i don't think there's any higher consciousness going on, people on this planet are going to get a lot worse before anything gets better, i think the story of atlantis, babylon and rome would make nice parallels...we'll destroy ourselves before any god or even nature herself gets a chance to. But don't you think that christendom is threatened in anyway by that? you said that young people are deciding to worship christ in their own way and not going to church which is completely fine. but to christendom THAT in itself is the threat because the christian church is what makes the religion so damn strong. The crusades, the witch burning, all that wasn't commited by the christians who sat in their homes praying to god for deliverance, it was the church as an organisation who felt threatened by "the old ways". don't confuse the roman catholic foundation and their anti catholic offspring as christendom, it may be a threat to the roman church's pockets, but it's their own doing, a lot of large churches like joel osteen, pastor hagee, bishop jakes and others that i don't listen to have their mega churches growing daily...by young and old people growing tired of the attractional models established by the founders of the roman catholic church...
on that note, even the catholic church is trying to strum up their business by focusing on their exorcisms, opening classes to a whole new slew of exorcists....i think the versatility of christianity and it's adherents is being overlooked by such a statement...if anything christianity has demonstrated it can last through anything, changes with it's times and out molded traditions fall away generating more welcoming ideals to suit the worship style of the generation claiming it.
the fundamentalists are losing their grip...it's not ending christianity, but making it a more user friendly format. To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

Okay won't argue with you there... O Canvas!, wherefore canst thou these images not allow? - I deem a projection of my Theatre they should be! - Then, I challenge thee the wisdom of naysaying the yearns o' mine - What is this unforseen that not enjoineth light shades to be skillfully painted?
