what was it that first inspired your own interest in the occult...i grew up around it, ghost stories, tarot cards, magick books even a mystic eye...but i did not consciencely take an interest until i found Curses, Hexes and Spells on the jr. high library shelf with my friend Janelle...at that point the world was open to me and i only grew and expanded into darker, more mystical aspects of it finally to emerge as i am now a balanced witch firm in what i believe from my decade of studies...

Man,Myth and Magic..... the magazine..... I used to read it as a kid cuz my Mom kept them around.... had a huge collection of them... they kick ass....

Curses, Hexes and Spells ! Where have I heard that book name!? I swear I read that when I was a kid...I was practically bred on crazy occult stuff when I was a kid (Ghostbusters and Beetlejuice raised me!) and I would always get in trouble in grade 3 for reading 'innapropriate books' (mostly Cohen ghost stories) Although I'm not an actual beleiver in Occult, I still find it fascinating stuff along with Mythology and ancient Alchemy etc...

it's an old book, i was in jr. high somewhere around the early eighties, so i'm sure other jr. high libraries still have it... prince was actually my idol until motley crue shout at the devil came out...thus began my descent into commercial satanism and heavy metal...but it was never for me...i'm happy with myself and my life at this point...i don't think anything could change it...hedonism is a hard life to give up.

I grew up fascinated by mystical objects, and I found a beautiful spellbook with my friend Cassandra- we first cast together on Beltaine.

I can honestly say it called to me in a way nothing else I have ever expierenced has.

I didn't find it, it found me.
I still have trouble believing some of the stuff I can do and catch myself occasionally trying to justify it scientifically.
I'm obliged by my religion to believe that certain things are possible (the more you can believe the higher you get in the religion sort of thing) but the sceptic in me still holds sway

I also act as a magnet for other people interested in the occult which is pretty cool sometimes.
I look ordinary, I dress ordinary but I can walk into a pub on my own, sit down and people will approach me.
It helps me to understand more and learn new ways to test myself.

I'm with Fero here, it just found me...I started waking up mentally in my teens, and that instigated the interest...not to mention that by some odd quirk, it seems everyone I've gotten to know the last ten years or so, at some point turns out to be psychics of some sort...they just pop up everywhere...
