listen to this in FL. there was a 19 year old idiot who killed a nun at a certain school. Well the kid was Ukrainian. (if its spelled wrong sorry)It turns out the nuns and monks of this order go to the Ukrane and find poor kids that have no homes or food on their plates, like him and tell them that they have two choices 1. they can go to America with the nuns and monks were they will be fed and taken care of, but in exchange they must devote there lives to this religions teaching and become monks or nuns. 2. they leave them in the Ukrane exactly like they found them and they go home back to America doing absolutly nothing. If the kids choose to come to America and decide they no longer wish to be part of the religious training there shipped back home same as they came. America Land of the Free my ass. I mean shit the choice is pretty damn obvious what they kids would do.

Well, why SHOULDN'T they place some sort of obligation on the Ukrainians? Is it fair for foreigners to come to this country to use up our resources, and not give anything in return? There are plenty of American citizens that are starving as well.

From the viewpoint that that's screwed up and those nuns and monks are assholes I'd agree. However they have a right to do that. It's their money and time they're using up, and if they want to look for converts that they're stupid choice to make. They'll probably burn in their Hell if it does exist for it. They were acting within their rights though, the kid was not by killing someone. Does this religious order find random kids and give them this ultimatum or does it have a sign-up type service? There's nothing wrong with what they're doing as long as they're not pressuring random kids and the choice is totally up to the children in question. If however they just corner off some kids away from their parents and convince them to do this or they'll starve to death they should be shot. I'd like to get more information on this topic before passing any more opinions...

Is there truly freedom of religion in the USA? I think not. Look at the hypocritical dipshit who managed to get himself elected president. He's anti-abortion, yet he's pro death penalty. By trying to outlaw abortion and going on and on about why it should be illegal. And it's all because of Christian beliefs. What about all the people in this country who aren't Christian? They are getting someone else's religious beliefs forced upon them by this, and that is unconstitutional. But you can't expect these richbitch politicians to see this.

Yes. I love ya Kitten, but all rhetoric aside there's more religious freedom in the world today than at any other recorded point in human existence. You can, if you want, practice openly any religion you can conceive and not fear persecution, torture, or death for it. That's actually quite amazing when you look at human history. The same freedom exists in most first world countries today, of course, and you can argue about how this country treats a certain sect's opinions with less consideration than some other religions, but in comparison to previous centuries most of the religious problems we face today are small.

I'm persecuted more for my religious beliefs more than you'd think, which is partly why I don't openly practice.

I remember in highschool my friend got screamed on by administrators for wearing his Deicide "The End Of God: The Way It Must Be" shirt, claiming that it was offensive... he wagered the argument that it's no more offensive than those banal neon "WWJD?" bracelets and if he is to censor himself, then everyone wearing a cross of some sort should be forced to remove them. I think he got in trouble anyway, but he didn't remove the shirt. Word.

I'm a devout Catholic, but I like to think I practice tolerance towards all religions.

I find it interesting that while on a school computer, I can perform a search on the word 'Christian' or 'Christianity', and come up with a million and one accessible sites. However, if I try to search for 'Satanism', our access is denied.
