what makes each of us so different from the rest? obviously our personalities and no, our "souls" dont carry our personalities, our brains do. your sense of self is also cuz of your brain. our organs are created and developed through the female reproductive system... what do you think god pops up out of nowhere and creates these organs from nothing? you should know better, i do hope you have studied basic things like this in school

DownDoo, What makes you so sure souls arent percievable? So they're supposed to be invisible to the naked eye, that does not mean they aren't there, also that there is no proof...
I have actually thought this through a bit and a soul by its description, and invisible energy field that intersects your whole being and exists after you die, could be the electromagnetic field created by your body, or the electrical field created inside your body. Even if I am right or wrong it fits the discription and it isn't blind belief. Although I will state that a soul could be a cobination of many things that seem unrelated.

Ok you don't want to hear anyone questioning your views Silver? Well there's a suprise, I'm not being nasty to you as we hit it off very well from the first BUT there are scientific explenations for ALL the things you just spat out on a whim as being without explenation.

Do you have an in depth knowledge of the geneticly structured growth of a child to an adult? I do. Do you understand how both nature and nurture can help structure the development of a persons mind as they mature and create neural links within thier minds? I do and I do because I have left my comfortable little room gone to places where I can read or be taught about such things and then formed my own educated opinions on them.

There are NO well documented cases of spirits, there is NO proof of ghosts that fall outside the "I felt a tingle down my spine I did!" category, and the complex mechanisms that make a body work actualy take a lot of effort to understand which is why most are content to give up before they've bothered to try to understand and just say "oh it's a soul wot does it".

P.s The fact you got so upset about your perceptions of the world being questioned is because you fear a world without God or Souls to bring you comfort.

Comfort is a man made idea and does not apply to the real world..ask any other animal if they expect to be alive tomorrow.

Where's your proof we are wrong? It's easier to say it's science...kind of releases you from any wrong doing to just excuse it off as..."well that's being human" No different than the christians so absolute in their concept that God is walking in heaven waiting for his followers...all you two are doing are exchanging god for science and heaven is a lab...

i'm not trying to be mean either, tentacle, i find many of your posts quite fascinating to read and right now i'm simply backing up my view. its not that i'm not open to what others have to say and that i'm not willing to change my perspective on certain subjects, its simply that in this case i didn't agree with the biased view of the article. that has been documented proff that ghosts/spirits/souls do exist. however, the information that i have found has also been based on opinion as has this article been. i may not have extensive knowledge on the growth development process, however i'm not naive and have formed my own educated opinions as well on this matter. i'm pretty well read and have read many technical books on spirits and the human soul. now, i won't claim that ever one of those books was one hundred percent accurate, however i didn't simply state my opinion without first doing some backround research.

Actually, Men are a genetic mutation of Women, in many obvious ways. That is why we share some characteristics. Problems during development in the womb can result in "sexless" children, or even a mixture of sexual organs.

It is all about genetics. Our DNA sets down much of what we are, followed by the way our Brains uniquely structure themselves. Our own filters on reality and individual experiences make sure that nobody is identical. This individuality does not require a soul.

Also, Scientists are working on finding the causes of Homosexuality for the sake of knowledge. They are not trying to prove or disprove it, just understand it.

The study of human beings should not be limited. Just because you may not like the idea that there is no hard evidence for a soul, does not mean Scientists should avoid the issue.

also, incase you dont know, during sexual intercourse, sperm is released from the penis into the vagina... no its not liquid glue silverflame, it has a very important job to do

i suggest you research further into exactly what important job the sperm does once it is released into the vagina

actually it's true that all babies start out as girls, at a point during growth a chromosome may be added that will make her a boy, that's why they have to wait a few months before sexing a baby....i think it's kind of funny thinking that men were at one time women...what came first...man or woman?

as for the concept of ghosts and spirits, i've seen myself many situations and have heard many experiences of unexplained occurances...including the misty forms, odd sounds and even things tossed around a room while lights flicker...(not as dramatic as in the movies).

So my belief in the "etherworld" is based on personal experience...most of my beliefs are based on personal experiences, observation, and questing for knowledge.

i think that's where the largest issue arises between scientific minds and esoterical minds. Science uses their knoweledge to break down, tear up and then reconstruct theories stated by others...those who develop their own theories often times do so from personal experience.

there's a lot science hasn't explained, and to dismiss it all as fantasy from the minds of those who are believers is not right...just because something doesn't fit into a nice neat scientific box, doesn't mean it isn't real...

however i've never been too accepting of a black and white world.

isn't everything subjective, even science? I believe ghost tracker(he's in chat a lot) is actually a parapsychologist, maybe i'll ask him to come here and discuss ghosts...there's a lot more documentation than you seem to portray here vallisk...but i find science tends to dismiss what they can't comprehend...there are many mysteries around the world that are like that...
