So you`ve never thought that the repeated warnings that denying God`s love will lead to unimaginable and eternal torture would be used to control others and urge them to convert out of fear?

That's very sweet and utterly naive. You do not think that the whole basis of the Christian Religion is founded in fear? How then do you rationalize the concept of "Repent or else"... "Only through this way will you get into "Heaven" if not you will go to Hell for ALL eternity"... "Be reborn and free yourself from "Sin" or else your soul is doomed to belong to Satan". The very concept of something like Satan or the Devil existing is a tool to instill Fear. If there was no such thing as Satan or the Devil what will become of Christianity? The religion exists because of this "character" and everything this "character" represents originates in Fear. Without the threat of a Devil to torment your soul there would be no religion.

True.... absolutely.... to deny that Christianity is based on Fear and coercion is to be blind as a bat without sonar.....

The Catholics made up Satan to coerce the masses to convert to Catholicism to gather more numbers to thier flock.... this is true and is historically correct....

Lililith, I have no need for "religion". I abhor "religion". I have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ who is alive today.

If you do not find fear (in this instance) to be a positive thing, then you are thinking on a purely emotional and subjective level I believe.

For example, if your house is caught up in roaring flames, would you not wish for me to awaken you in the middle of the night to warn you that if you do not do something about the condition you are currently living in, you will be burned if not killed? Am I attempting to "control you by fear" because I know that it would be better for you to escape your current condition rather than burn?

Yes. I am. Because I care about you. I am willing to be labled as one who seeks to "control you by fear" if this fear will give you life.

Lable away Lillith. if you so chose to be saved from the fire due to the "fear" of being burned, I believe in the end, you would be nothing but grateful.
