you always lose a lot when working with them, even if you feel there's nothing to lose...sanity, emotional control, reality...they get into every aspect of your beign, consuming, feeding off of you and enrapturing you, keeping you so, entranced that you fail to realize that the world around you is no longer yours, but theirs. Low energy days, irrational mood swings, constant teetering between needing and fearing them...breakdown of interpersonal relationships of human sort, drugs are an easier habit to quit, and less detrimental to your emotional health, at least drugs are predictable in their techniques for gaining power over you, everything is susceptible to demonic influence and manipulation, even those that you care about, and care about you.

...they relish in all our emotions and have mastered the art of stimulating them, finding which ones drive us most strongly and stimulating that one...they become as hooked on us as we do them, and depending on whatever emotions stimulate the most energy, helps them decide on how they prey upon you...what's your driving emotion?

that's what you'll become consumed by...hate, fear, weakness, anger, depression, loss, hopelessness, jealousy, sexuality...how do you keep your energy up; meditation, earth grounding, a higher force you draw upon, certain magickal techniques?

the demonic sort require a lot of sustenance, especially to really show boat, if you are serious about working with them, figure out how to generate the energy they need, while having enough for yourself or they'll take it, and you'll have no defense, will or health to keep you, yours...that's when the relationships become dangerous.

if you want to jump into the frying pan, you will get fried.

Simple pain would be a good starting point. Pain causes focus. Detrimental emotions will often attract unenviable visitors in the night. Vexxed shadows and straw men in wide brim hats.

Confusion is good too. Sow discontent and await the pleasures.

Everyone always has something to lose. Of course it is often only after its loss that they realize they had it to lose in the first place. Your soul, like your flesh, can be cooked.

you know..the other day i was watching the history channel and they had a special on martial arts. they were using science to see exactly how deadly a single punch/kick can be. they had a master Ninja on there who could stop the heart and kill a person with a single punch to the chest. i was very interested in what i saw and i thought it would be awesome to have that kind of power. After they interviewed this master, they found out that he had been practicing that punch for over twenty years (key words: "over twenty years"). i swear i am going somewhere with this...
what i am trying to say is (and i dont mean to offend you)...you seem to be blinded. you see the results, but not the methods to the results. magic is a very relative idea, and for me it is very real. you say you are ready to be guided and learn, well you have already been told the basics: meditation and study... i will advise you to start there. without those you will go nowhere and very well possibly hurt yourself or somebody else. oh and yes you do have something to lose...you just dont know it yet.
i wish you the best of luck if you choose to take that path. from personal experience i can tell you (and im sure others here will agree) that it is not easy.

i was interested to hear a few memebers make reference to the physical and emotional effects of dealin with these outsider forces. It furthers the htoery that there is a maeasurable effect on the nuerochemistry of the reciptient, although i believe that the context of contact wiht the 'demons" were are disscussing here is not one of possesion but rather a ritual summoning?

Regardless, the rules may still apply, especially after reading what people have sadi about the physical emotional effects of just being in contact with these forces. Further investigation is required!
