Does anyone know what I should be taking to loosen my bones up?
At the moment every joint (including my neck which is pretty cool) gets stiff and I have to crack them.
Is there a remedy?
I'm not drinking Cod Liver Oil *Puts foot down*
And just to keep this on topic I should point out I'm asking people who know about earthy stuff

calcium is always good for bones, but rather than focusing on your bones, it may be a joint issue...if it is there are a lot of remedies out there...I am reading about gout...it's a form of arthritis and it is often relieved by eating cherries...a couple dozen a day, tapering off to ten as the pain subsides...drink lots of water...if it is this disorder it is high uric acid levels and the water helps flush it out, any food with a high purine count should be eliminated(gravy anchovies, lobster, herring and about all organ meats...and the worse part...cut out alchol, especially beer, it has a los of purine...if that is whats causing it...that's all I could find relating to joint pain, but I'll look around...for you To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. that's for gout, you may not even be suffering from gout, I have a book I'll need to dig out, it may have something to help you out...you don't like cherries!

I have the same "problem"... I crack my knuckles, my neck, my spine, just about every part of my body outfitted with joints.
According to a doctor I asked about this, it has something to do with the fluids contained in the joints, or rather, the lack of it. He also said it would stop about the time I stopped growing - which I should have stopped doing years ago, but apparently I haven't *shrug*
According to some of my more hysterical friends I will develop arthritis if I keep it up.
And according to my chiropractor I am lucky to be able to do it on my own, since he think its doing all sorts of good things to my skeletal structure
Me, I don't know... I do know that it feels good, that its good entertainment watching the faces of listeners when I twist my back and Snap Crackle and Pop are tap-dancing along my spine Oh, and it seems it aids in intimidation as well, when you crack your neck and go into stance.
Sorry I couldn't be of more help, but as I said it should stop bothering you as you grow older... supposedly. Caveo - Saint of Carnivore, Slaughter and Death, Lifeline of the Left Hand, Slaughterer of Living, Harvester of Souls, Bringer of Doom (You ring - I bring, anybody want some?), Defiler of Creation and Devourer of All Things Containing Meat (I'm still wondering how that got there...)
The biggest problem with people,
and the greatest convenience,
is that they are humans.

YOGA!!! YOGA YOGA!!
Did I mention you should try YOGA??
Truly I swear by it, for me it has improved my over all quality of life by easing my constant never ending chronic pains while giving unbelievable flexiblity, strength (without nasty bulk) and more energy and stamnia. Even when I am not attending classes I do simple poses and modified poses at home from memory and books. I am in basic level but to truly master basic takes years of steady meditation and practise.
I feel tired right afterwards like I've just done a marathon or a few hours of weight training at the gym but after a few hours I feel great. Becareful though when you first start out the next day you will be cursing and screaming due to soreness in muscle groups you didn't know to exist. I would also recommend Pilates which are even more intense and style after the most complex and comprehensive form of strength training for ballerinas. Or those dancers who want to refine, improve or rehabilate after an injury. They look suspiciouly easy but once you try them you will never think that again. Pilates require a truly Master and Certiifed teacher because of the high possibilty of sustaning and injure while preforming and learning them.
Also Tibetian Singing Bowl Massages or Ball Work would help. I would be careful with the singing bowls they have very unsual effects on the mind and psyche. Because they retune the brainwaves into proper balace to heal tissue and ease discomfort.
On the herbal or Homopathic front---
Capsacuim Ointment works though you must use it for extended periods of time religiously to feel the true benefits.
Tiger Balm (from China)--Is a true mircale drug for me. Any time I hurt or feel stiff I use it. Smells horrid (like menthol, linament, and a host of herbs). Works overnight.
Those are all the ones I can think up of off the top of my addled brain. Try them out Fero and let me know how they work for you.
". . . This is only the cold nose of the fuck-happy fox creature.
-Tip of the iceberg."--Denalay Somedays it isn't worth chewing through the leather straps. Hello,
I see the assassins have failed.
"Hey Courtney, aren't you a Buddahist? The goal is to obtain Nirvana, not break them up."---Madonna to Courtney Love on SNL No magic is ever truly destructive. For what is destruction, except creation with an agenda? | |
