When a persons animal instincts are stringently repressed by society or when inadequate outlets are provided for it, disaster often ensues. Earl 20th century psychologists, around the end of WWI, observed that the animal in us only becomes more beastlike when it is repressed, and that is no doubt the reason why no religion is so defiled with the spilling of innocent blood as Chritianity, and why the world has never seen any bloodier wars than the ones including Christian nations. The implication of these observations is that Christian teachings are very repressive of their nature human instincts. The same observations could be regarding WWII, which were extremely bloodier than any-other war to date.
I'll agree it makes for some messed up people...but to dismiss all the people as evil? that i don't agree with, they are just people, some approach their religion in a dignified manner truly seeking to educate about it, and sadly most feel it needs to be force fed...but it's society that's repressive, the bible only represses those who choose to follow it.
I think the only reason they do have such a bloody history is because they had the power to do so, control of the masses, and the name of god to justify it...but anyone can use a religion to achieve those goals, it 's not exclusive to christianity. the Muslim religion seems to be getting up there now.

Yore right, like usual, its sad that some people who follow montheist religions consider themselves superior to others who follow different ones. And that their faith in their mass religion can overview the true messages their faith was originally intended, including the message of Peace.
On a sort of side note, I just read an article in time about students from berkely university making their own magazine called Patriot which projects a loudly conservative, republican image. A school that 20 years ago protested for peace and equal rights is now completly for bush's war and anti-abortion. How many conservative republicans are not Christian?
Obviously i am against such a hastly holy war that can be considered as our future. i think that the reality of their society views guides them to be conservative republicans and pro-war. I did not say anything was wrong with that, who am i to say that, who are you? I am just stating that their conservative Christian social upbringing might of played a part in their view of life and of war. Let me also just say that i am a Catholic with my instincts and values intact, but some Christians i have know are pretty condesending while extremely repressed
When people talk of the freedom of writing, speaking or thinking I cannot choose but laugh. No such thing ever existed. No such thing now exists; but I hope it will exist. But it must be hundreds of years after you and I shall write and speak no more.
