Yes it does. It always will. A person uses belief to define thier inherent Character and to give them something to measure up to. Sadly this also makes for a situation where they must also measure another person against thier scale. Woe to those that do not measure up to thier expectations.
Only when belief is seperated from character will people be able to advance beyond comparison.

Strongest usualy meaning most popular, which in turn would be the most satisfying even if it is sometimes foolish.^_^ If most of the people think it would feel bad to be cheated on then its wrong because it would most likely hurt someone else.

Thats why I go by the bible. I dont always "feel" like it, like the rules on sex.

Belief is only used because the Truth is not known. Were you to know The Truth you would have no need for belief. As such until you can seperate belief from your character mankind will invariably continue to slaughter itself from within.

Do you need to feed your ego so to be able to compare yourself to someone else to know that you are better. Comparisons exist to seperate Man into enclaves which are defined by many different aspects of belief, wealth, and class. One can only say they are rich if there is someone poor to compare themselves to.
Man needs to advance beyond the need for comparison.

I think its your belief.

I believe there are absolute truths. I also believe that since mankind doesnt know, or go by these truths, this is the cause for most problems, if not all of them.

The standard that I go by on that second paragragh is the bible.
The bible teachs us that we are all sinners, and that noone is any better than anyone else.
You may be gifted more than most people but it is what you do with those gifts, is what God looks at.

Jesus is the standard with which I measure myself up too.
I can never attian his status, but I keep pushing. Its like a race only one person wins, but there are 2nd 3rd and so on finishers.
Its a healthy competition, because the more you help others the faster in the race you go.At the same time I look at others as fellow runners, working in one big family.

No, God is still there, I think he wants you to come around on your own. To be convinced in your own eyes.
He has all of the time in the world, once you reap your own friut and pain sets in I think you will be calling him.
