i actually do believe in G-d, but over the past year, i've had a sort of religious setback. i am jewish, so my family has certain standards and morals(we are not religious at all, but they like to keep some things. we don't celebrate the sabbath or anything like that, but we do try and keep certain holidays). last year, i was pretty much set for life, or at least i thought i was. i was in love with a wonderful guy, and we were already talking about marriage. but my parents stepped in and ruined my plans of happiness, because they didn't think intermarriage and interdating was right, so we broke up. he and i don't speak anymore, which really hurts, because he was someone i loved very much. it seems my parents have learned their little lesson about crossing religion with social activity. they still harass me about it sometimes, but they know i probably won't listen to them. if they had let my relationship run its course, eventually we would have gotten tired of each other, and perhaps might even still be friends, which sadly, is not the case. but it is because of one incident that i question my religious beliefs. 95% of my friends are religions other than mine, which doesn't bother me, but at the same time, it would be nice to have someone to talk to who celebrates hanukkah rather than christmas. aside from me wondering why i am different from everyone else, i believe that i am a good person who has never committed any major sins, and for that, my concerns about religion decrease.

Sorry to hear about that severance but unfortunatly that is the way religions work if you are not a part of it then you are condemed even if you are a good person at heart or sould which ever the case may be as for my self i tend to belive in all the god's from Jehjova to Ra the thing of it is though is i don't have any faith in them

personally.. my own opinion i don't belive in any certain god.There may be some othere higher force of some sort out there i don't deny that, but i don't myself belive that there is a god.I think it's basically a way people are brought up to belive that there is a god,or to belive in a certain religion,so that he will learn tounderstand and belive other aspects of life,as far as any other mater,i don't honestly think there is much there.

2 things: first, i'm not a kid. second, that's how i was brought up to write G-d's name. maybe you don't believe in a higher power, but i do.

i still think there is a higer power of some sort.. because i was raised as roman catholic by my parents,and now im just really open minded bout this kinda shit i guess.

my room is decorated with religious statues and pictures

I had nothing wrong with your opinion up until the point you said everyone who believed in God was a weak deluded fool, and then tried to say that wasn't meant to be insulting. If you look closely, you'll notice my statement is structured to reflect the same sentiment that yours expressed. To the basic issue of the thread, I believe in science. I believe in the basic idea of God, and believe there's a scientific explanation for God and the basic existence of the Universe. I hold the various faiths practiced on Earth to be theories for God, all or some of none of the aspects of any one faith may be right or wrong.

Simply put I do believe in God.
