my granny used to tell me that all people have a guide through their life. For some ppl it is god, others a kind of mentor (someone from the family or a teacher ect). I for my part got interested in animal totems. And i found my guide is the crow. I hope it will help me to connect my physical being with my spirit again.
I'm a bit curious what you think bout this or who is your guide through the life?
Well according to the definitions on the internet,my totem is the hungry hungry hippo.but really...it is supposed to be the lion.and sure, I like lions, and stuff, but my real guide I see with no form,or rather, any form it chooses.
you feel you've lost touch with your spiritual side,or are you just now discovering your interested?
Well both, i've always been interested in the animal guidance and belief, even if practically my whole family is deeply catholic, but i never really did a deeper research. And a month ago i realized how empty and lost i feel, like there is none left of me. I'm not an atheist, i need to believe in something, but since i don't feel connected with any christian, budhistic or paganish religion i was looking for something else, so yeah i found me a new interest.
Ah, I know somewhat of what you feel,I guess I could say.I mean,I dont feel exactly the way you do, I dont think thats possible.Anyhow,I was born into a catholic family also, and I grew up pretty much questioning everything about it...that,and christianity.I try not to dwell too much into the new age beliefs, but I do believe in what I feel is right.
I totally agree with you,in wanting, possibly even needing something to believe in,especially nowadays. So tell me,do you feel or see any characterisitics that you think may connect you with your animal? You strike me as someone with a strong intuitive outlook on life.
Firstly i find the crow an fascinating animal. I always did. As i began the search for my animal totem i answered me this questions. Which animal i'm drawn to, which i do see most frequently and did an animal appeared in my dreams?
Then i begun to read more bout the crow and i've found this.
The crow indicates the need to find balance and to stay in the present. Represents change and the advanced soul. Her color naturally associates it with night and the earth. When you observe with the eye of the Raven/Crow, you realize the importance of letting others express their views. Crow teaches the importance of being still and observing quietly until we can see both sides of the light. She also brings new things, new places, new ideas, and rebirth. Crow helps the worthy, but loves to trick the unsuspecting; and is as full of mischief as she is wonderful. Symbolizes the home of our ancestors, our personal stories and imprinted memories, is distinctly earthy, and feminine. The Crow is the symbol of our own soul, the symbol for fun and play, for parts of our own past marked with shadows of unhealed wounds and unexpressed emotions, for death and destiny.
She is jealous, but proud and independent etc.
I'm not looking at this as a new religion of mine, but more as a spiritual guidance. I just feel strong connected to the earth, as all humans should feel and I hope this all will help me to understand myself better.
i truely mean no offense in this post, BUT..(LOL you had to know)

Because parts of the occult movement were adapted by the early feminist movement in order to distinguish themselves from the opressive male culture that they saw all around them?
I`d like to think I have a spiritual guide but arent really all that into the idea to look into it any further.
Work is of two kinds: first, altering the position of matter at or near the earth's surface relatively to other such matter; second, telling other people to do so.
