who thinks that if you had to follow either 'god' or 'satan', that the latter would be the better choice?

i'm a very proud atheist and don't believe in either, but i know that if i had to choose one, for whatever reason, i'd choose the devil, simply because i feel he's more 'human' than god, i.e. he has more human qualities than god is purported to have, and is therefore less distanced from our daily lives.

i've chosen the devil...but he makes it sound so fun...

The devil is more curbed towards human nature. God on the otherhand is rather greedy and spiteful.... If I believed in it, I would go for the devil... He acts upon impulses and sins, just like everyone.

Strangely lately God is more closely associated with evil to me then Satan. I mean, I don't see that much effect that Satan has on our world. People try enforcing the word of God on others, but I am yet to see a satanist doing it. People have been waging war in the name of God, but I am yet to see people doing it in the name of Satan. Are there actually that many people who would believe there's God and worship Satan? No. They either turn to God, or believe in neither God nor Satan. Or turn to a religion totally different from Christianity... I do not know whom I would follow if i HAD to. I've seen a lot of what God's followers have done, but I don't know anything about Satan...

yes. i agree totally. if god exists, he's one twisted motherfucker. maybe the victim of a sneaky uncle when he was a kid or something *shrugs*

religion is the most evil thing i have ever come across, more so than murder, paedophilia, mutilation, etc., because all these things that are done on a small scale by sick individuals are done on a large scale by various religions. the individuals are just lunatics. the religious types are even more dangerous. they are fanatics: lunatics with something to believe in.

i wouldn't say that religion itself is that evil, it's usually the followers that screw it. although religion certainly has it's effect on them. anyway, i don't believe in God, at least not in a christian one. if there's some greater power then humans do not know about it at the moment, at least it's likely it's not even close to what they imagine. i think i pretty much explained my theory on faith and why some religion's followers are so agressive in a thread called 'why no faith?' (or something like that...), in case you are interested in it.

I thought the bible told gods side of the damn story...... and if so it is a horrid and bleak story that I want no part of..... besides.... i worship nor believe in either being.... so i guess i could care less about either side of the story.... oh... and let me just reitrerate... Simply because of we're speaking of these entities existing, then that would mean that so did the stipulations, and a prison of liquid fire does't sound too yummy at this moment.

Satan is the bringer of light and knowledge, I have never seen nor heard of mass destruction perpretated against others in the name of Satan, but it has happened quite often in the name of supposedly "benevolent" X-tian religions.
