Oh dear! Well now... as for my point, I do think it was rather obvious to say the least. I pointed out that through your judgment of those that lean towards religious beliefs you do the exact same thing as you call them on. Then you asked me mine, I replied. Then you debated about what exactly "judgment" could mean... which by the way is basically what "semantics" is; having to do with the meaning of words.

Science and Religion are very seperate things. Science is the pursuit of objective knowledge, whilst Religion deals with the subjective. Both have their place in Society, and both mean different things to different people.

I am a firm supporter of Science. Science is the best way to gain real, firm knowledge about our World and the Universe around us.

I see the problems with Religions. Dogma and accepted ignorance are obvious and major problems. However, some people need to explore a side they see as Spiritual. So rather than supporting Religion, i support those who wish to explore their own Spirituality.

To me, however, Spirituality is a nonsense term. There is no such thing as a Spirit, only a collection of memories and thought patterns. So when people say i should explore my Spiritual side, i point out that Science has given me many gifts of knowledge, whilst Spirituality has given me nothing. People can pray and meditate all they want, i am happy to read National Geographic.

So.... what rules do you live by and where did you acquire your moral sense of being.... I remember you... I think it was you... explaining that you were fascinated by the Sumerian culture..... was that you???

but on topic, I believe therefore it exists!(philosophy 101)...i've gathered my beliefs, knowledge and understanding of the world from my own experiences, observation, and studies. scientists, skeptics or some child who thinks he knows it all can't convince me i'm wrong, because I sought my knowledge...and after more than twenty years of experiencing various avenues of belief...i'm at an understanding with myself, and my place in this world...i no longer have to challenge others with my beliefs to confirm them...i know what my beliefs are, and have even developed a scholarly fascination with those who believe differently...i prefer knowledge exchange(even with vegetarians) rather than "you're wrong to believe as you do". You've offered nothing in the way of knowledge, nothing new for me to contemplate, I've read you're arguements a hundred times on a dozen different sites. Maybe it's time for something new...

Chemical and Electrical reactions in the brain provide the ability to pass information. The Brain generates the spark itself. After that, we have many theories about Consciousness and what makes us Sentient. I don't see any evidence for a soul, though.

well if they are all theories, there's no proof on either side i guess i'm kind of opposite of the "seeing is believing" i need absolute proof it does not exist before i believe it doesn't...most of what i believe i've witnessed.

When there is enough supporting evidence, it is only reasonable to accept a theory. Until or unless it is found to not fit the facts any more.

Cold Fusion is still only a possibility, but it is more of a possibility than the centre of the Earth being made out of marshmallows. You have to be selective in what you keep open for consideration.

not even i believe that it's made of marshmellows, i've seen lava and it makes perfect sense that it makes up the core of our world...however science has still been unable to say exactly what it is that makes it up...so who knows?

Its kinda like this:
Hey I`ve found something with my eyes(or anything else)-proven existance.

Hey havent found anything here but theres a billion other places I could look, tools I could use, I could just be limited by current technology, my own secret biases might be blinding me or I could just say it just exists in the mind but is still real-trying to prove non existance.

Its difficult to prove a negitive when faced with so many excuses like that so the burden of proof is placed on those claiming the existance of whatever is in question.

ahhh...but it leads to one hell of an adventure
