i feel i am trapped in all these different religions, i was christened a roman catholic but don't go to church,but i believe that my faith in god is as true as any primary christian!
I have considered Shalom , were it takes all your judging /stereotypical side out of you but were do you start when you want to believe in god but not abide the rule book of a religion?I feel that god has made the world, walked away and now there is all manmade beliefs that is causing destruction all over the world

Why do you want to put your belief in some sort of box?
If you truly believe you wouldn't have asked such a question.

Organised religions are there to help out people with no imagination.
If you don't need a crutch don't use a crutch.
Believe what you want to believe.
I think God would be getting a little bored of all the sheep by now anyway, he gave us imaginations and ingenuity so why not use it and come up with your own belief system?

Or religion could be invented by something else to cloud us from truly become one with Him.

well my mums a catholic who goes to a catholic church along with all her side of the family while my dad goes to a protestant church with his side. i have chose to keep away from church until i have chose a religion but maybe your right maybe i don't want to bow myself off thanx

I have only just learned like in last few years to block out any of these fools interpretation of life, themselves and of each other!Ive learnt why should i put myself in pain to listen to them when i can listen to someone who will learn me to help cope with life.

Or just have the faith and confidence to trust your own judgement.

This comes very close to my own modus operandi. You alone can decide what is true or false. No book or words hold absolute truth...

It is my experience that the right religion for you will call out and find you. I too was a disgruntled christian girl, I met a friend who showed me "the books" in the library...I have studied a wide variety of religions and beliefs for...over ten year(I am that old) and just a few years ago settled for the keltic way...it felt right, the others I studied either took me to dark places or taught me nothing...a good religion helps you find balance and peace with yourself and the earth...

If you want to believe this then it would be a good idea to find the right religion but if your not sure that this is true you may spend your time looking for a religion that has only been nearly good and could'nt follow one that you wasn't totally comfortable with, like following the rules they've set.I could'nt live like that.Maybe i will follow your footsteps and read all different religions and then after decide whether to follow my heart and not stress about religion, or consider one i've never even heard of,for now i will just concentrate on my own judgement.

Yeah, in my opinion you are probably better off coming up with your own belief structure and once you have it well established you can go and see what religion is closest to it. That way you won't get brainwashed or simply attracted to the sparkle of a "Fashionable" religion

Searching is the best way to approach when "choosing" a religion, as you read the different philosophies that apply to them you'll find what you agree with and disagree with. While searching, it will also help you figure things out about yourself, and that is a major step in finding a spirituality...people who are not intune with themselves, can not attune with anything else...you really need to know yourself. And fero is correct...I follow the keltic patheon, but I really have quite a hodgepodge of beliefs, most are based in the keltic religion, but a few are not, that's why I just say I'm a witch...

I still don't have a religion...I follow philosophies and ideas, not gods...but for some reason I tend to lead against the native american way of thought, so far, at least. I don't intend to fully settle yet.
