I'm all about some ocean side, i'm not going to this confrence to stare out the window at the pretty view. i'll be fine so long as i don't get stuck in the closet room that got cut off to make room for a suite.

Side views at some hotels have a side view of the ocean. The ocean front is staring directly at the ocean.

And no One, a location for the hotel has not been picked out because I have to email the chamber of commerce to get group discount rates once I know how many people are coming. I also want to have SDS come down here with me one weekend to look at hotels.

rock on, that would be awesome. we need to make sure we contact a few before we go. if they know we might be bringing them a shitload of business they might try and woo us a bit.

Haha. Some places will even set you up with complimentary rooms just to see if you will stay with them and bring your group business down.

Oh, the hotels down here will let you go and look in any room. Some actually just give the night stay free. You could stay in those for the weekend and we could check the rest out by just looking in the different room types.

aye, i drive but i'm pretty bad when it comes to unfamiliar city traffic. i'm more than willing to drive so long as you know where you're going. and we need to check out public transit or the possibility of renting something. i don't know about you but i don't wanna play chauffer to everyone that doesn't have a car if we decide to make a group trip somewhere. plus being DD really does suck balls.

i am all for the ocean front considering this is the first might as well go all balls and if this turns out to be a one of a kind thing it might as well be the best to remember

and i am open to just about any place to stay at... though the cheaper the better

I was thinking more along the lines of when we went to look at hotels. I might have my DL by then, but I don't know. I will definitely have it for the convention.

As far as public transportation goes...It's slack here. There are buses, and trollies that run from the Boule up to the bars at Broadway, but that's a 21+ thing there.

Obviously if people fly in and don't have the money to rent a car, some people will have to jump in with others. Pyrric and I have a car, I'm just not allowed to drive it. I know Wicked has a car...or will have one for the convention. We'll just have to see once we figure out how everyone is coming in and figure out what kinds of shit we want to do at the convention.

The rates of hotels are going to range because of the season. Better to do it in late fall... off season has less rates. If SDS goes... I go. I have a vehicle if a driver is needed...also I be DD if needed. If you guys need any help at all gimmie an email. I have nothing to do in the mornings so I'm down with surfing the web and making phone calls. When it comes to things to do, all I know in Myrtle Beach is tity bars and sand. How long will the convention last?

We're shooting for four days and three nights. That way it's not a waste for people to come down and it's not too long to affect their jobs and schooling.

I figure if we can get an estimate of who is going.. Then we know how many rooms to get a quote for. We can always reserve extras, then cancel them if we don't need them. Hotels can be really accomodating when you have a group. I don't personally care if I get oceanfront or not. I see the ocean every day. So I'm going with what's cost effective.
