85$ a night. $280.50 (including tax) for the entire stay.

Warning! This site sucks balls but their hotel is nice.

Are you thinking of having the convention in a large room, or getting a ballroom or meeting hall for it? Cuz thats a bit excessive for just a place to sleep.

The Breakers is nice. They gots the hot tub. Just for the hell of it, check on Crown Reef. They have that huge convention hall. It might be neat to see what we can't afford.

I'm one step ahead of you. I checked Crown Reef. It was somewhere around 120+ a night.

Plus you have to be 23+ to rent the room.

so uh.... how are the accomadations at the local motel six? actually my last girlfriend was a dancer. and she would get hooked up with sweet ass hotel deals. you just got to tell them you travel there to work on weekends. i think we got about 50% off. but we were regular customers.

I've been on the phone with a few hotels to get a feel for what they have available. It looks like the second weekend in October is a good time. The rates are low, and there is a lot of availability. If you all can give me a clear cut idea of what everyone is preferring, I can get a quote locked on with a group rate. As it is, these rates are outstanding:


Camelot by the Sea:

$349.83 for 3 nights, tax included.

I'm personally liking the Sheraton. They have meeting rooms, a restaurant, lounge/bar, and they offer free transportation from the airport.

Caribbean Resort:

$176 + tax total for 3 nights for 2 double beds and fridge oceanfront

I go for the Sheraton.

a double bed, a fridge to keep the booze chilled and the coffeemaker for those nasty headaches.. what more can you ask? ocean view? there. a hawt chick? there.

I like the Caribbean place too. Only they don't have a lounge. But they do have a cafe open for breakfast and lunch. And yes.. that's a good idea. You know, it'd be neat if you could come down the weekend of Mari's birthday. I'll be there.

I was actually planning on trying that anyway, and possibly coming down a first or second time to check out the hotels with her, seeing as the weekend of her birthday we'll probably have drank/smoked ourselves too stupid to seem professional

The great thing about the Caribbean is that the man who owns that also owns Sea Captain's House. Which is where Pyrric works.

So we might be able to work out a deal of some sort.

Oh that's cool, too. I'm calling them tomorrow about group rates. The Sheraton too. Find out what sort of deposit is required.

we also need to see if we can get any perks if we go down to scout them out for the convention...

Okay.. Here's the deal on the Sheraton. They want a $200 deposit paid down on a credit card to book the rooms. They'll give us a meeting room to use one day that's oceanfront. They'll set it up to our specifications. The room rate is the same as the one I quoted before. The Caribbean wants the first night paid for the deposit.. That's per room. The good thing about doing it that way, is each person can be responsible for paying their own deposit. The rates are the same that I quoted earlier. But October is getting booked up quickly due to golf season.. so we're going to need to come to a decision soon.

Meg. They won't accept a check or money order for the deposit? And if the only reason they want us to use a credit card is so they feel safe if something gets damaged we could always put more down on the deposit. I think we should check out this Sheraton. That sounds nice.

I'll have to look later but I want a kitchen in my room so Gus doesn't go crazy. He couldn't live without cooking for a day or two.
