Hmm. My daily commute is about 10ish miles each way, ruined by Hawaii traffic and old Asian women that can't drive. I make up for it by blasting Arch Enemy, Slayer, and/or Children of Bodom the entire way and singing along.

The other day on the way home I passed by a total of 5 motorcycle cops. Jeeze, leave us alone!

I don't have a daily commute, since my job takes me to different places on different days of the week. I sometimes rotate my contracts and do one before the other, just to add some variety into my life. variety is good.

Still, you're in Hawaii. It could be a lot worse.

I saw what was left of a porcupine on the highway the other day. Spiny roadkill is funny somehow.

It snowed on the way into work this morning.

Not much, but enough to make you wonder if summer will ever come.

How's this for weird weather:

Wednesday we're driving back into town from the boondocks. It's around 8pm and there's a thunderstorm, rain dumping down. We get on the road along the river, and as we come down a hill we notice that the road and the ground to either side is covered in...snow.

It's warm enough to have a thunderstorm, yet just before that some clouds dumped enough snow down at one time to stick in 60 degree weather long enough for us to drive through it before the rain washed it away.

My commute is through the town so I mostly spend my time staring into the back of another car. I do spend a lot of time though looking at the people behind me.. Amazing how many people are arguing in cars.

What's the point?

I'm glad I don't live by you... you should be keeping your eyes on the road, that's awful close inspection of specks in the sky if you recognized them as bald eagles and banded hawks...which means you -weren't- paying attention to the road and could've crashed into some poor innocent beautiful truck like the ones ArSi photographs...

My commute to work includes a 2 min car ride up the road to the train station, (Yes I am that lazy) a ride on the West Coast Express (http://www.westcoastexpress.com ...yup its a train) .....and then a bus (or a walk, which I've never walked it... hahahahahaha) ...to Granville Island

I do enjoy my job when it isn't slowly killing me... yesterday was a good day & I went out for dinner with my boss after spending the afternoon rearranging the gallery with her and her interior decorator friend, and then after dinner we came bck and spent another couple of hours working on it... (Got out of there at like 10:30pm)

Worked okay for me, I drove in yesterday so I could drive home.

It's easy to see them when they are within 25 yards of the road or staking the road out looking for road kill.

Around here, you have to watch for the animals because they can cross the road at any given time and have no consideration for oncoming traffic.

It's all part of life in Wyoming.

I watched a badger running across the highway infront of Home Depot yesterday. A pickup swerved to hit it. Killed the badger but blew the tire on the truck. Fool had it coming.

why would you swerve to hit a badger? that's just horrid.

i had some asshole tailgate me, so i dropped down from the 30 i was doing (which was the max road speed) down to 20, he soon got the message and backed the fuck away from my car.

course he then over took an decided that 60/70 was a great speed for a built up area next to a primary school.

So yesterday on my commute in, I did the norm drive, train, bus, thing... only walking to my work from the bus stop I saw some lady laying in the middle of the street with a couple other people around her and a van that then just drove off... so I went over there to check that she hadn't been hit by the van... turns out she just fell, but fell badly enough and hit her head hard enough that she made her nose bleed... and twisted her leg. Someone called 911 for her, and then while they were on the phone with 911, another lady less than 20feet away from us, walking, just fell over onto the ground... it was REALLY bizarre. Again, a van stopped right by her and again we thought maybe she'd been hit, but she walked away from it so I guess no help was needed.

Anyways, all the guys were all "Are you okay? Where does it hurt the most?" every 3 min, so finally I crouched down next to this woman and asked her what her name was, and did she have ID for the paramedics, and did she mind if we got her ID out of the bags that were on her bike, and then we knew her name.... and then I asked if there was someone she wanted me to phone, and so I phoned her husband for her and had him go to VGH which is where she was going to be going.

Then I carried on to work.

Sounds like the guys weren't able to think things through. It's good to hear you handled it well.

I just got back from a 102mile run to another town to setup a printer. No one in that office could lift it out of the box much less setup the full sized monster. And they needed it functional today.

I saw a small herd of deer and not much else today. It's that time of year when the animals aren't near the roadways except at dawn and dusk.

That's pretty sad, that you have to go 102 miles to set up a printer??? LOL

Sounds like a fun job though!!!
