[serious mode] lucas never intended to make 1 2 or 3. he doesnt intend to do 7 8 9 10 11 or etc etc. (apparently) but of course geeks have written the stories.

so i'd say with enough pressure from geekdoms then he probably will end up making them. but there are rumours about a new indiana jones film i heard a while back so he'll be concentrating on that first i think.

Episodes 7, 8, 9 have been in book form since the early 90s. It's "The Heir To The Empire" written by Timothy Zahn. There are a billion Star Wars novels, but those three are the official Lucas endorsed continuation of the series. They take place long enough after episode 6 that it would fit the age of the actors.
