Let me ask you a question: What's more intersting? Happy little parties or mass suicides? What do you think is the dominant feelings of humans? Well, it ain't happiness and joy, I'll tell you that.

i suppose death unites us all, and it is quite a big thing, and to most people quite scary, so as a serious answer, talking about it a lot might help some people to cope with it in their reality.

People talk about death and all that other stuff because they take life too seriously. If your alive then live for the moment, don't worry about when you die. Don't go around breaking the law and doing other dumb things like that, but have fun while you can.

if there wern't threads the explain the circumstances and ramafacations of suicide and other goth socio-cultural landmarks (i.e. black clothing, hot topic, etc. etc.) the members of this site would have to figure out something else to talk about. This is so incomprehensible to some existing members that the make a series of threads so the site can be updated on a regular basis their position on suicide and their own life in general. Thus regulating the energy flow on this site to cuddles and hugs and basic sympathy/empathy with the "self-loathing member."
