Dude, what's everyone's beef with clowns? Clowns are the jam. When i become rich and famous, i plan to hire a bunch of clowns to just come over and hang out. Like, they'll come to the door all "HEeeeeeeeere's Boffo! where's the birthday boy *honk honk*" and i'll be like "it's cool, just chill. have a beer. keep the makeup on tho." And just roll with a bunch of clowns. Yes.

I've noticed the whole "beef with clowns" is just some pathetic trend amongst the psuedo-goths..a.k.a. "Mansonites" and the "Korn-kids"..or that's what seems to be the thing that I have noticed in my area..

WHATEVER! i've hated clowns since i was like 2 way before i knew who manson was and before korn existed.. just because SOME people follow doesnt mean that noone has a genuine fear thats like saying that noone is afraid of spiders.. we all just WANT to be so we fit in. its A-tarded.

One could stem from mental disorders apparently being the new hip thing nowadays... kids between the ages of 13 and 18 seem to sport everything from mild paranoia to a sudden case of MPD to post traumatic stress syndrome, most of whom have never encountered anything even remotely damaging (easily denoted by the fact they think things like Manson and t-shirts with complete sentences on them are offensive or unique), henceforth, one could deduce that since clowns are a widely accepted means of traumatizing a child at a young age, the disdain for clowns despite a feigned penchant for all other things gory and offensive could add to the afformentioned "look how fucked up i am" persona.

Or it could just be from that one t-shirt they sell at hot topic with the line "can't sleep, clowns will eat me" that they stole from the simpsons on it...

Who knows.

I agree on both of your theories. I'd comment further on why I agree, but I think I'd throw this thread way off topic. Then eventually have i hate me jump on my hypothetical nut sack, because he/she would assume I am talking about him/her...again..

As much as I love that t-shirt, I love clowns. I've always loved clowns, except in It. I'm also friends with a lot of them...they're some the best people to talk to on Earth, for the most part only nice people are going to put up with the shizznit necessary to be a clown. I don't think people realize what hard work it is. Of course I know mostly party clowns, not circus clowns. Though I talked with a couple actors from Cirque De Soleil when they came by the costume shop I was working at when it was in town.

I salute you all who don't fear clowns..*bows* Awww..my gods..brave souls you are..lol..And I don't think that hating clowns is just a trend or fad..I think its just that they are used in movies such as it or the halloween costumes that tramutize the kids such as I..Comeon..You all have to admit that the fact they're always smiling is a little creepy!!

I like clowns for the exact reasons that everyone hates them. When my kids misbehave I threaten to take them to the circus. After that they shut right up. O ther than that I just like to watch people freak out when thet see a clown. Speaking of which I invite everyone to read my Ode To Clowns poem.

I just don’t give five pounds of unusable human excrement , now cow droppings are something else , I can easily give five pounds of cow droppings to mimes , unless someone consider a mime a sort of clown , in which case it would be half & half , in this case my concept of clowns would be improve by association.
