Where do you go when life becomes too much to deal with?

I tend to get in a bubble bath alight with candles, and no music. Just silence and solace. Sometimes I will sit outside in the dark (if it's summer) and just listen to the traffic on the motorway - it calms me.

My sis drives up to the electric generating windmill things... out in the country, and just sits there listening to the blades of the mill turning..

don't really have a sanctuary, i tend to read a lot, or just yell at people..yelling at people usualy makes me feel good.

I hide in my work, literally. I put on my music, jump into my pictures and lose the world.

i used to climb to the top of the stone cliffs on the beach to escape. but since i moved i dont see the beach anymore.

my sanctuary when i am sad is now my pillow.

I play violent games, with loud violent music

Ah - the beach is my sanctuary too, when I'm actually there, cos I don't live near one. Craggy rocks and the crashing of waves against them.. that humbles me.

I tend to do that if I'm in a bad mood, music is so potent. That's why when I want to 'escape' from life, I have total silence.

i miss the moonlight nights on my cliff, when the moon would be reflected off the water making 100 million sparkling moving diamonds. youd look up and there wouldnt be a single trace of a cloud in the sky....just billions of stars winking at you.

*breathes deep*

i miss the smell of the ocean. i feel like an angelfish thats been caught from the ocean and put in a fishbowl.

thats the thing...for me putting on Gorgasm and playing say Doom or quake, or unreal gets me away form this life and allows me to slaughter and slaughter some more. Doesn't matter if I am in a good, bad or other mood.

Ok -I understand what you're both saying.. but I'm tending to agree with Lily on the whole Sanctuary thing. I think for Crypt - it's more escapism? I mean - Sanctuary for me is escapism, but a peaceful one. Now if I'm in a foul mood, escapism could take the form of violent music and a 'don't give a shit' attitude.

Now - Crypt, do you ever just chill out.. find peace?

no, i have often been told i am way to intense. i used to find a release in "singing" and would often feel better after it, but with a family and not having my own house it makes it extremely hard for me to belt out lyrics though i do it in the car much to the hatred of others around that may hear

Why do you attack the weakest person? Does it make you feel better about yourself?

Heh, I do that too Sounds to me like you need some freedom and space.

LOL, i used to once a year fuck off up north for like a week to let myself go. and ya it will be nice to live and own a house again. get a nice system going and belt out lyrics. makes me miss the days i was in a band. was a great release for the pent up anger

No sanctuary is the best sanctuary. I have alot of down time though no place to really think things out. It's best just to not worry about too much shit and live life as is. If something crappy happens.. Go to a rave or a dark club, there are always fun people there. Also, music is excelent for me, it's just calming..... I am a male, I have changed the pattern!
