Usually I just have problems with my shoulder, but now it's basically the whole arm. You know it's bad when a 4 1/2 month old baby kicks you in the elbow and you end up crying on the ground in pain for 10 minutes until the painkillers kick in.

is your shoulder bad from an injury, or is it bad like "arthritis" bad?

Arthritis bad. Pretty much all the joints in my body are weak. I get it from my dad. Unfortunately, we do hard labor all the time. In the past 10 years, he's ripped his right shoulder twice and dislocated his left once.

One of my millions of jobs is a janitor. I vacuum and clean windows, mirrors and toilets for 2-3 hours a night. It doesn't sound like much, but the constant movement is wearing down my arms.

The doctor actually said that if I was a weightlifter, I'd be fucked. My body couldn't handle it.

That sounds like my joint problems... they're just not in good shape, and there's really nothing I can do about it. Physical therapy made it worse, and everything I've done to make it better has had no effect, or a bad effect. If I'm sitting for more than ten minutes, it hurts getting up, if I'm doing something on my feet (like working) for a few hours, it hurts to sit down. I can also crack every single joint in my entire body. Except my thumb, I've sprained it too many times

I went the whole day yesterday using my left arm. It was hell. My right arm went the whole day going, "I dare you to put pressure on me. I DARE you! Go ahead. Twich a muscle and see what happens."

You ever try driving a Ford pickup with only your non-dominant arm?

Does anyone know what specifically one can do to "fix" or halt the deterioration in the joints which leads to arthritis? I'm thinking dietary or healing therapies?

as of yet, nothing is known to combat it.

Tried that. When they found out my "History"(My dad, my brother and my uncle have joint problems), they all but threw me out.

Poos that sucks! Hopefull there is some superfood you can consume to make yourself better. What is your condition actually called? Just to see if we have any magic remedies here.

Years ago, yeah. But it's not a cure. No matter how healthy my bones are, I still do things that wear out my joints.

Hairstyling: Fingers and wrist
Cleaning: Wrist and Elbow
Vacuuming: Elbow and shoulder
Childcare: Back, shoulder and elbow

And a million other things. If I wasn't so Right dependent, it wouldn't be so bad now. I never noticed how much I use my right arm until it crapped out on me.

We're in the same boat then. Even though the doctors told me they don't know exactly WHAT is wrong with my joints, they said no matter what it is, there is no cure. All I can do is take it easy when they hurt and hope they stay as healthy as long as possible. I'm already resigned to knowing I'll have a cane by thirty, and possibly be wheelchair bound by fifty.
