Descibe the perfect trap concerning people and how you would build it (literally or methaphorically).


Perhaps this a bit amateurish of me, but I've been thinking of a variation of the lady and the tiger...

First, find a deeply involved love triangle... doesn't matter who or what gender, only that two people love the one who will make the choice and the one is waffling between the two.

Second, lock the two who love the one in seperate rooms with seperate doors leading to a room with the one they love.

(this two/one crap is a little contrived, isn't it?)

Here's the scenario...

There are cameras and televisions in each room showing the other two. On each door is the name of the person in it (only really needed for the one making the choice). The screens are above the doors showing who is inside that particular room.

The two victims are bound to chairs in their rooms. The one making the choice is free to move about his own room, but the doors are locked and sturdy.

At this point, all can hear the villain/trapper/whatever (i guess that would be me at the moment) over a PA explain...

"Behind these doors are the friends you love. When the time comes, you may open one door and save the person you love the most. I will kill the other. If you do not make this choice in ten minutes, I will kill them both. They, as well as I, are watching. Choose quickly and wisely."

At which point the doors unlock.

The key mechanism of the trap here is that the doors are too far apart to be opened simultaneously and the other door locks hard when the chosen one is opened.

The key psychological part of the trap is the names on the doors and the video feeds are switched so that if the one goes to victim #1's screen and name, the door is really for victim #2.

The victims are to know which door the chooser is going to with as much infomation as the chooser does. Meaning if he goes to victim #1's name and screen, both victims see that. They do NOT know its switched. Therefore giving #1 hope before death and #2 despair before life.



wrap things up, yadda, yadda...

the only amendment I can think of is to make all the rooms and doors soundproof.

You know you don't need to come up with these incredibly elaborate schemes. Humans are incredibly gullible when it comes down to it and no one is going to expect that a trap could be used against them in this day and age anyway.
Perhaps I should have read the thread before replying? It won't happen again . . .
I like the idea of making someone think that they are safe and then shattering that illusion. Maybe by starving them and poisoning a hidden cache of food or apparently setting them free only to have them still be in captivity.
I'm sure I could get a lot of good ideas from "The Prisoner"

Trap #1 Killer House .. Take a nice looking Subbrbin home then POST Killer House on the Door enter at your own risk .. Every so offten a different sign will raise out of the lawn such as ( OPEN HOUSE ,X-BOX Party ,See Game ON PLASMA SCREEN,Singles meeting,ETC. All preloaded into a switching device ) As One approches the house a computer with minor AI and survalence system checks to see if anyone is watching or how many ppl are with the victim(s) NO more than 2 .. if yes Or too many system safe mode .( Door wont open voice from inside tells them to BUG off were full !! .if no then actvate trap mode ...( And wont target Post Carriers )
Trap mode door opens as person approches door Victim can hear music,A sports game party in progress or video game noises depending on age of victim and Bait with a male or female voice calling from the back to "Come on in and play ! " etc..Once victims get about 10 ft' into front room door closes and entire floor swings open downward into a 25 ft pit of acid then closes very small ventalation system expells unwanted odors into the sewer system ..Sub route if house catches of fire ,has more than 2 police show up or is mobed SElf Destruct But load of TNT and GAS explosion followed by acid bin is injected into city sewer system ..Ya know something like that all evidence destroyed with home you could give other rooms other attcks like doors seal clorine gas fills room etc. bla bla bla ..

He's right ya know you could just rig a pay phone with a cyanide spray system ,and a warning sticker that claims death to anyone who is on this phone for more than 3 minutes as to the affect the victim inhales the gas without notice go's off and dies ! But Rouges trap has a flavor of pain to it OOOoooo...

I'd wanna dig a deeeep hole in my yard, and cover it up with a blanket, and put a chocolate cake on top with a sign that says "free cake." I'd then invite a fat friend over, and upon seeing the cake, he/she will attempt to take it, subsequently falling into the hole. I would then fill the hole with chocolate frosting, and the only way he/she could get out if by eating hella frosting.

trick them through some silly offer of vice into a human sized rat maze, letting them wander around eventually dying from dehydration or starvation, leaving spoiled food and tainted water, periodically initiating a shower of water that they may be lucky to lick the liquid off of the floor to prolong my amusement...but i have a bit of a human side, so i'd probably leave some painful but quick poison easily accessable and very noticible, if they don't want to face the choice of a more natural progression of death...

naturally there'd have to be cameras placed frequently about and for variation put couples or friends in there...just to watch what happens when things aren't so...plentiful.

like someone already stated, it's easy to trick people...

the difficulty with a thread like this, is it's hard to be original...i've seen a wide variety of traps and such on various movies...one was rather ingenious, a short story about a rather tyranical headmaster sort of person at a house for the blind...he kept the poor old blind men so cold and hungry that one of their dearest friends died...so they lured his dog into a room, the "major" in another while they set up an elaborate tunnel of razors, leading to the door the "major's" dog was mad with hunger in...in the end he made it to his dog hearing him bark and after being slashed trying to get through in panic was greeted by his very hungry dog...the blind men had warm beds and steak for dinner...

sadly i don't remember the movie, it seems it was a trilogy of some sort.

i think the only reason Antihero hasn't done his idea is cause he doesn't have any fat friends.
