I have often sat and thought about what I would do if it happend. Now I know its fuckin fiction... but c'mon you know you all have considered it. I have had hour long discussions with friends and such about it.

here is my plan:

I keep a SHTF bag in my car and one in my apartment closet. SHTF of course means shit hits the fan... its not for zombie per say, but more for a Katrina like situation or if the government ever collapses, which I believe is going to happen ONE DAY.

Anyway in my bag I keep:

Food:
Sealed packages of rice and dried beans.
Energy bars (double packeed)
Pepper, Tomato and assorted vegitable seeds.
Flask of Whiskey, Flask of Absinthe.

Medicine:
Packaged, Tylenol, Advil, and Aspirin for fevers etc
Benedryl for allergies
muscle relaxers and other prescription drug items.

Medical:
Bandages
disinfectant salves and ointments
needles and threads for stiches
flask of Rubbing alcohol

Tools:
hammer
survival knife
Screwdrivers
wire cutters
machete

Weapons:
Loaded .38 with +P rounds and about another 50 rounds of ammo.
Loaded 9 Mil Glock with an additional 50 rounds.

Money:
300 Dollars cash shrink wrapped.

Clothing items:
Gloves
Hat (for warmth)

Lighting:
ultra strong flashlight with backup batteries.
small hand flashlight with backup batteries.


Thats my SHTF survival bag, in the event of an apoc I would grab that and throw it in my car trunk and take off, of course thats not all i would take. I also keep a loaded Brunelli man killer shotgun loaded next to the bag and my .357 S&W. SO that would all come with me. The Shotgun of course i modded ot get rid of the regulations, so it holds up to 8 shells instead of the 2 allowed by law. Its loaded with a really nasty heavy buck that turns peoples bodies into hamburger.

My plan would be to take this shit into my car (I drive a mustang) get to my womans house and take her and the loaded .38 I gave her, to my parents house where we would grab up my folks and my brothers and my doggie-doo. and head to my grandfathers factory to get one of his delivery trucks. He owns a spring water company and has giant mac trucks that can be easily made to carry people. Take one of those fuckers and drive north to Maine. The plan is to hide out in our families summer house and make it thorugh the winter, its quite and its secluded and its very easy to defend because on 1 side is a beach, on the other is miles of woodlands so all we would have to do if block off the roads and enforce some kind of check point. We can fish in the ocean for part of our food and grow vegitables on the grounds there. We will also have plenty of power since there is a generator that my grandfather bought, and lots of gas to keep it and the cars running if need be. Hopefully the winter will kill off any zombies so the most we would have to survive is for a year.

So thats my plan, what about all of you?

Anyway, that's not that bad of a plan actually. Wish I had me a bag good to go...but I don't. I don't know jack shit about survival either. So, I'm fucked. My only hope is to rape and pilage and fight my way through until the end.

I have my Zombie Survival Guide...I'd most likely take that with me.

But my plan does consist of locating a boat (which I know nothing of boats) and navigating my way to an ocean or the gulf or something.

But, in the long run, I'm most likely fucked. Look for me limping, drooling, and moaning would ya?

I love survival stuff, its an obsession really, I think it started in 4th grade when I read that book "Hatchet". But I will mercy shoot you in the head. I Intend to stay the hell away form populated areas and just living off the land as best as I can. I also had a plan of taking over a small street in my town where my family lives and we are all friends with the area, and blocking it all over and barricading and turning it into a small village with it own fresh water source and gardens. The only problem I could forsee with that is that it isnt secure against anything bigger than a forc eof zombies or small force of living. So if a large group of armed living came, we could potentially be taken over or have our barricades taken down. Plus if the gardens fail to produce enough for the winter we could very well go hungry since there isnt much in the way of wildlife in the area, birds and squirrels, but no deer.

i think i'd probably do a shaun of the dead and go to the pub. if i'm going to die i may as well get pissed.

I have but one question: If government is collapsing, what good is the $300?

Good plan. How would you be driving around so freely? Wouldn't most of the roads be blocked?

What about a spare tank of gas at your house for your vehicles? There's no guarantee that you'll be able to get to your grandfathers house to use his tank of gas.

Billy and I talk about this alot. And I think it's important because zombie survival plans can be almost interchangable should we get invaded by another country, worldwide apocalypse a la The Stand, etc.

But in the case of zombies, I've always thought that the old high-rise building was the best course of action. Like in 28 Days Later, I'd bar the entrances and have barricades and such set up on each floor. I wouldn't occupy the highest floor, as you have to have an escape route. And I also prefer to work alone or in a small group of no more than 6. After the initial fall out, you'd have to organize into teams of 2. One for food and water gathering, one for weapons, one for recon. I would use 4 wheelers, as you don't know what the roads will be like.

I'd eat squirrels and rabbits that I hunt with my bow
I'd try to find a human partner
I'd try to find holy grounds and hope that really works

For the people who are stupid enough to think its worth anything in a crisis.

Chains on the tires for the mud and these trucks will go off road.

And theyre strong enough to smash through another car.

And I anticipate that much of the carnage will be on the main highways, i know the backroads form here all the way to maine, so I dont anticipate it will be that bad. And anyway, in any situation like that most likely people wouldnt be "traveling" anyway since it would be widespread they would bunker up at home. I have a rock solid plan that goes into execution the second the SHTF maybe even earlier.

Billy, you have a plan. There's only one thing you haven't posted about: what if you move? What are your alternative routes to Maine, or some other state? What parts of those other states? If not the woods backed by water.
What if you had no choice and were stuck in the middle of a city that you couldn't escape for at least a few months?

I've considered such things, though I don't have a bag.

bring some condoms, so when you do your woman she doesn't get pregnant. that would suck at your summer house... i mean, with zombies all over the place, the last thing you need is kids. am i right?

Also, what about the other SHTF situation? Suppose you were wrongly convicted and sent to prison? How would you stop that?

My one puzzlement thou was why the need for money in an Apocalyptic situaton. Surely money would become usless. I'd be interested in your reasoning behind this item....

I have no detailed zombie plan. If they're fast zombies like 28 Days Later or The Dawn Of The Dead remake, I will be in hiding. If they're slow zombies like Shaun Of The Dead, I'll be out in the street with a baseball bat, and loving every minute of it.

Smaller Glock 19 9MM with 2 15 round magazines and one 17 round magazine along with a crowd pleasing 35 round extended clip 2 boxxes of 50rounds each 9MM ammunition.

.40 Caliber Springfield XD with 2 10 round clips and 1 12 round clip with two extra boxxes as well. This would be my long distance pistol

When the shit hits the fan always have a gun that can stop a car. 1 10MM Smith and Wesson Model 1006 Semi-Automatic with 2 9 round clips and a hell of a kick The ammo is spendy so I would have just one box with two full clips

I work in a grocery store and know it inside and out so I can quickly get there and get what I need before heading into City Creek Canyon and barricading the main road in. From the canyon the entire Wasatch Mt. Range is wide open. I would just get away from huge areas of population. Probably head into the desert. The less people the less dead
