Yeah. I'm moving out of my current, comfy, rent-free all-expenses-paid digs to a place of my own on Saturday, where I will have to pay for rent, utilities and inevitably worry about annoying neighbors, car theft, mold and insects, even if I have no good reason to.

I was packing some of my shit away today, and ended up getting rid of a whole bunch of stuff that I've had with me for a while. Most of it wasn't really valuable, but there were a lot of memories associated with it. Friends & places I knew from a long time ago that are nothing but memories now. It broke my heart to throw some of it away, but I can't carry trinkets and souvenirs around forever. Everything from clothes that are now too small, to old & broken computer items. It's scary, I can so clearly remember how I got some of that stuff, where I was, who I was with, how much it cost. I didn't give any of that stuff a second's thought while it was in the garage collecting dust and cobwebs for two years. Now, moving on, all that stuff is alive, with memories and images. And in two days, we'll probably take it out to a dump somewhere and just trash it.

Moving is bittersweet.
