I was supposed to quit smoking ..which I did ..for 4 days. I told myself I wouldn't smoke as much ...just ..when I really needed a cigarette. Yeah, right. I have been smoking more than I ever have. I used to smoke a pack in 3 or 4 days, now its half a pack a day. I suck. | |

well, if you're on a budget like me, and really don't want to quit, stick to the no-name brands instead of those 4 fuckin' dollar packs of marlboro, kool, etc...
personally, I smoke Shields, which aren't much different than marlboro, and are 3 dollars cheaper.

Then I'd suggest doing so cold turkey. I quit for a year, and I had tried the gum and the patches. Finally, I just said fuck it and threw my pack in the trash.
Then, after that year, shit had happened, and I was so stressed that I started again.
I was still very much addicted during the time I quit, though...believe me, the cravings don't stop.

Smoking sucks. All my friends smoke, most of my girlfriends smoked (though my current love, bless her heart, refuses too). It stinks, it makes you stink, your clothes stink, etc.
Sorry, went off for a sec. Anyway, my mom quit smoking using the patch. It has been almost 4 years since her last cig. She always tells me that you need something important enough in your life to make you quit. You can't quit for no reason, for her, it was the idea of her new house smelling like ashes.
