I happen to be a curtious smoker. I do not smoke indoors, not often around those who don't. And should i be smoking and a 'non-smoker' joins the conversation/area, i tend to back off a few steps out of respect.
I know for fact that there are many uncurtious smokers. I am not one of them.. My stepdaugher is highly allergic to smoke(and has asthma to boot). She has not complained once (yet) that my smoking has bothered her..
In retrospect, i treat my cigg like i would a gun worn by a peace officer. i tend to keep it turned away from those around me..

When friends that smoke come over, I ask them to go outside and smoke, because my duaghter is beginning to show signs of the same allergy that I have...and I believe the word you were looking for is courteous

I used to smoke a pipe, but I quit years ago.
Half-N-Half is really good pipe tobacco.
All you cigarette smokers ought to get a pipe and try some quality pipe tobacco sometime. Good stuff.

I'm an unrepentant smoker. I do not apologize for my habit. Sure, it's bad for me, so what? Sure, it has carcinogens.. So does everything else that's ever been alive, from lettuce, to red meat, to tofu. I'm a very courteous smoker, like Tiggs. I don't smoke around non-smokers, I don't smoke in other peoples' cars/houses without their express permission, and if I'm smoking in a public place, I blow my smoke straight up so some passerby doesn't walk into the cloud.

Kissing a chick after she smokes is about the nastiest thing out there. And I don't understand why a lot of smokers watn a cigarette after a meal. It's like "Hey, this stuff tasted great, now I want some forest fire in my mouth."
