07-19-08
Ok dick heads I got a problem. Now I know I aint on the best terms with you gents but this is startin to fuck up my life big time. First I'll preface this by saying I know allot of you will tell me to suck it up and get help ya dumb fuck instead of pissin and cryin online to a bunch of who's who online.
As a kid I only wanted to make my parents happy (easiest way to avoid punishment). Now that I'm an adult I'm still bound to this biological connection as I still live under their roof. This also means I'm stuck doing things I shouldn't, like sneakin peaks at the hotties I like instead of just looking. Talking about things that bore the shit out of me instead of what I want. Talking about my views on life, people and how things work (despite if that view is wrong and I still believe it).
Yet when they tell me to do something (example: get a drivers license) I rebel; I put it off till the last minute (my way of rebelling). If they think I should switch jobs (logical reasons) I'll go with it because that pleases them, and it's the right move anyway.
Now I can't look at a girl I like, act the way I want around others, can't socialize because that reveals what I really think, can't make friends because I'm always lookin for the next best thing. Fuck the shit I can't even find people attractive because I told my mother I wouldn't when I was nine.
Everything I want to accomplish in life is hindered because if it's good for me, and my parents agree (of which we do allot) then I won't do it because I have to rebel. (My "rebellion" as it were isn't much, but it's enough to upset them a little)
I don't know how to get past this or where to start.
Yeah, I'm fucked.
Edit:
I'll also add that I don't get close to no one or get personal because that's a sign of weakness (needing others). If you need you might not get, and if you need to be happy and you won't get it then you will be sad. Thought I'd throw that in right away. What he said.
Move out. You got feets, use em.
I hate renting, but I hate living anywhere near the olds more.

You could give what Billy and Shok said a try. Another option would be professional help or both suggestions we gave in combination. One good thing is that you are realizing it's a problem and are able to name it. That gives you back some of your own power; now what are you going to do with it? The choice and responsibility are YOURS.
Whatever the hell you do though, Alpha, DO SOMETHING. Don't just sit in this and let it consume your youth. "Knowing your own darkness is the best method for dealing with the darknesses of other people."---C. G. Jung

I'm with Billy.
Odd that you told your mother you wouldn't find other people attractive, when you were 9 though...
As far as it being a sign of weakness to 'get close to others' I think its a far greater sign of weakness, to avoid it out of fear of getting hurt.

Alternatively grow a spine...
I'm 37 and still live with the 'rents. Why, cos it's cheap and easy and property around here is very hard to come by (even more so gven the recent economic situation). It means my money ain't tied up and I can live as I please basically.
BUT...
...I still do as I please and I'm still my own person. I think either you need to move out as Billy has said or grow a pair and let your parents realise you are an adult (you are an adult right?) and that you are not a clone of them and their own backward thinking.

Or as Jobe said, just be an adult and live your own life and compromise with the parents. To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. Well, I added what I said because obviously he's having a problem getting to either of those two solutions. Regardless of what he chooses, I feel the most important thing is that he actually does something and doesn't just keep sitting on this. When asking for advice, and saying -
"I know I aint on the best terms with you gents but..."
It's usually not a good idea to start off by addressing them with the line -
"Ok dick heads"
if you want to get a kind answer about your rather pathetic situation. If you think a forum is going downhill, you have no-one to blame but yourself.

That's the sort of response I'd expected from you. Thanks for not disappointing me.

Considering what's been said, I'll say this first:
I could move out, but rent is high around me; but that's not a big deal, I'm switching jobs anyway. Right now allot of my money is in savings for collage (don't know what I'll go for yet), which my parents think is the right move instead of wasting it on beer, drugs, clothes and video games (which I agree with). Right now I live rent free (almost) so I don't have to worry about it too much, but my responsibilities are pretty high for me right now (in my eyes at least) which include making sure my siblings get along with themselves and my parents, they don't fuck up their lives, and learn to deal with their teenage emotions.
I'm also in charge of keeping most rooms clean, laundry always on the go and the kitchen in a constant state of clean even though it's a waste of time.
My free time consist of watching tv so I can escape reality for a short while before I go back to work and deal with dumb fucks all day.
So yeah, I could move out; but I start to lose allot of money for almost no reason (drinking? Getting laid every few nights? Hardly seems worth $900 a month [at least]).
Now I'll say I came to you guys because I expected honesty and brutality, which was served. Thanks for the help.
I'll also mention that I can't be who I want around the parents despite if I move out. Maintaining a professional appearance to those around me is part of my job and life. So moving out doesn't solve allot of the problem.
However, I could just decide to be a dick and say whatever I want and dismiss whatever anyone else says. Though I'd like to think I'm above such petty nonsense and figure away around this logically outside of therapy.
Also, although I think star signs and all that jazz is a bunch of horseshit made by the amish my zodiac sign rings of everlasting truth. I didn't think I'd connect so much with my sign but I do; aparently I'm full of emotion deep down and can't reveal it until I think it's the perfect time. That combined with the hole teenager hormone thing is probably causing me a fuck load of shit. To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

Alpha, I don't think that you wanting to make your own decisions about yourself and your life makes you a "dick". You sound like you just want your autonomy. That's ideally what human beings do. For $900 a month, you'd be drinking and getting laid a few nights?
Yet... you could look at the opposite spin on it... and look at what you'd actually be getting... which is...
Your siblings would have to make sure they got along, on their own, and if not they'd duke it out the way kids do.
Your parents would need to grow up, since you wouldn't be there to take care of them, and you wouldn't feel obligated to take care of them.
You'd only have to worry about keeping clean whatever mess YOU made, instead of the mess you, your parents, and your siblings all make.
The kitchen would stay clean
The laundry would be yours & only yours.
Your free time could be spent however you damned well please
and...
....you could be who you want to be... and save the 'acting' for when you were around other people.
Sounds like its time to move out. I'd say all of those would be worth the $900 a month... Easy.

Growing up, its natural for kids to want to make/keep their parents & everybody around them happy.
Part of growing up, is realizing that you've got to make yourself happy, before anyone else. It doesn't mean we don't care about those around us, its just being aware that unless we're happy & content, we'll never be able to begin to help out others. That isn't being a dick, that isn't being an ass, that is being an adult.
