i was at wally world the other day and jenn decided to go through the 5.50 dvd bin. low and behold there was the samuri jack movie. AND we're getting direct tv so i can start watching cartoon network. kickmotherfuckinass.

When the show first came out, it was about promoting the animation. It was really awesome to watch it, but it got boring really fucking quick. Since then, it's changed a lot. They threw some writers on it, probably to the great distress of the creator. It's an ok show. It's just....like a lot of other ones that I see.


Cartoon network is slowly beginning to realize that an entire generation of people raised on cartoons would rather watch that than anything else, and they're finally starting to cater to it. MORE ANIME.

When Adult Swim comes on.. I don't watch it until the anime is off. I can't stand anime. So I wait out the crap by watching Comedy Central, then switch back for Family Guy and Futurama.

The Big O

Inuyashi is understandable. The best part of the show is character development. It's really a kiddie show, despite the overused sexual innuendos, which were actually down-played when translated to English, just as Sailor Moon was. It's redundant and short in the ways that DragonBallZ was. You can watch an entire episode and not miss much because they don't give you much on each show. They do it just to keep you watching.

Big O is hard to get into. It's cheesy, and the characters, other than Dorothy, are distinguished by their actions instead of actual personality (but that's really part of the plot...) I exlclude Dorothy here because she's an android and has no personality. The great thing about Big O is the storyline, AND it's the ONLY anime that's been done by Cartoon Network. That alone makes it unique, despite it's roots in the cartoon Batman series. It has dark undertones like batman, and a few of Roger Smith's tricks are very Batman esque, but it is an island all it's own. Truly an excellant show. The fans of this show are astounding. Just taking a look at the Cartoon Network messageboard will show you that people watched this show over and over again and speculated countless times over what the plot was actually about. It has a huge following.


Bebop....It's funny, it's witty, it has good storylines, the characters are well developed and unique. There's sex, drugs, jazz music, and greed. One complaint I hear from many friends is that they can't get into anime because there are too many characters and they all look the same. Bebop is not like this at all. There is no excuse for not liking Bebop.

FLCL is fucking amazing. The storyline is rather out there, but the animation and sexiness about the show really keeps it going, despite the manga animation.
