I hereby request that every single contributor to this forum be conscious of not abusing the function of "report this post". Please do not be trigger happy with every post you think is offensive purely because it is written by someone you disagree with. Remember the story about the boy who cried wolf? Let not this legitimate and worthwhile function become redundant. It's vital and imperative when someone has been personally insulted, and degraded. When it's a statement arbitrarily then please just ignore it, even if you disagree with the stance of the author.

This insane hostility needs to end, but that may be wishful thinking. There is always something similar taking place here. Which is why we made the BITCH FORUM, if you dislike someone then bitch about it there. The Offtopic forum is not a playground to spew hate and insults, it is open to any type of topic however, but we have made several points we wish you all to adhere to. These points reiterated:

1) No Spam
2) No advertising
No Trolling
4) Try to keep good fellowship with fellow chatters
5) Keep Posts from OTHER boards (that would include ALL other forums) out of here. Linking to/Copying from photographs, poetry etc. just to attack them is Not permitted. You have this corner of the board. Be happy with it.. Let the other people be safe when they post their work out side of here.

We have been asked in the past to have forums that aren't Moderated, we obliged, because we were told that you do not need to be policed. Well, please try and behave in a manner that would not need policing.

I ask in the spirit of sobriety, common sense, and decency, can we just try and maintain a decorum of respect for each other?

nice sentiment, but with people like JLB, it just can't happen. his entire purpose for being here (according to him) is to teach us how to think properly, i.e. how to be like him. since we don't want to think like him and since he believes he is infallible, he will inevitably flame us, and we'll flame back, etc. etc. Unless he changes his entire philosophy, things won't change.

I'm going to play Devil's advocate here and point out that a true unmoderated forum would have no expectations of sobriety, common sense and decency. It seems rather contradictory to me for us to have an open forum that is still policed by the mods in the first place.
We have someone on the forum who has been breaking the rules of the forum and I think that our reaction to it has been natural and mature. I feel that the mods owe us an explination as to why JLB has not been banned or restricted from the forum. I'm not asking this to try and start trouble either, I really want to know why some of the mods have not agreed to take the drastic action that this situation requires.

I am looking into the situation right now...... also.... the Open Forum is not UnModded nor has anyone ever stated that it was so..... it is "loosely" Moderated... the Bitch Forum is Unmoderated except in severe instances.... I have to inform myself as to what has actually occured.... as i have learned long ago on this Forum.... alot of times what a member may see as a bannable offense is actually just something they may disagree with and in no way severe enough for a ban..... so let me do what I do..... and we shall see what is what....

DarkForum hasn't really changed at all has it?

Its rather disappointing, an obvious troll and his buddies are just allowed to flood the politics forums and people are trying to reason with the troll?, well of course its going to agree... its a troll! Then it'll do the same thing more, but keep more in mind of the rules except the one about trolling of course.

He's been trolling for months. Why hasn't he been banned for the months of trolling? Is politics unmoderated now?

I mean, the dude is, like, the poster-boy for right-wing extremeist trolling. Yet only now when he moves from a moderated forum to a loosely moderated forum after months of trolling he is talked to and then not banned for the trolling, but told that Dyshade don't pussy-foot about and to be nice to other members.

I just don't get it. Seriously?, how can you mods just get it so wrong?, I mean I really do understand you aren't infallible, and I'm an admin elsewhere, so I get having to understand these things. There's, like, getting it wrong and pssing off a few members and then there is trying to reason with a text-book troll after he's done it for months with crappy excuses.

Main question though, how can you get it so obviously wrong? Why is it obvious to me and not you? (am I just totally wrong instead) Why don't you read politics and ban on trolling? Is it because you don't visit politics so you didn't know ... and wasn't this because of the trolling?

This isn't intended to attack any one mod by the way, if still none of you are really doing anything or looking in to it enough, then there is obviously something still fucked in the system that still hasn't changed.

Warnings has been issued, posts has been edited and such .. but that's as much as I can do. sometimes it screams for a SuperMod who has the power to take action .. because sometimes our oh so lovely warnings get ignored. right, JLB?
